Of course I hope he goes to New York, but my gut says he either stays in Cleveland or goes to Chicago. I just pray that the Knicks don't end up giving out a max contract to a second-tier free agent.

It's hard to say.
If the Nets get the first pick in the draft, then New Jersey.
If not New York.
So because the team with the best odds of getting the first pick in the draft hasn't in the past, I went with New York.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Two weeks ago I thought there was no chance he was leaving Cleveland. Now I think there's no chance he stays. I still can't believe what we witnessed in the EC semis, just crazy.
Until someone gives me a logical explanation/plan of how the Knicks can afford LeBron and Bosh and still field a real 13-man squad I can't see how he's coming to NY. LeBron and Bosh joining Gallo, Chandler, Douglas, Curry and seven D-Leaguers/min-contract players just isn't going to happen.
I said in the other thread that if the Nets were already in Brooklyn then I would consider them the favorites by a good margin. I'm not sure it's the best destination for him though, we have no idea if Lopez is a true "Robin" yet, we don't know if they will win the lottery and I'm not sold on John Wall being a great NBA player anyway. They have $22m on the books next year, if it's the $56m cap and they have $34m to go after LeBron and Bosh it could be scary. The big detractor here is obviously the location of the franchise and the coaching situation.
Chicago needs to find some way to acquire Bosh or they are not in the running IMO (yes, my stance changed from last night already lol).
So as of May 14th and where things stand now, I'm going with the Nets.Last edited by ehh; 05-14-2010, 10:43 AM."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Knicks can sign either LeBron or Bosh outright..
Obviously a sign and trade would need to be done to get Bosh, if we assume LeBron signs outright.
Can you do a UFA for UFA sign and trade?Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
A good majority of where LeBron goes depends on where Coach Cal ends up.
And before anyone says it, I saw Cal's twitter...and I take that for less value than when Saban said he wasn't going to Alabama.Too Old To Game Club

They have money now to sign two Max deals.
They have Eddy Curry's contract, which they can use as trade bait, as people would want his expiring and all the dough that comes with it.
They can sign someone for the MLE.
They can sign someone for the veterans minimum (T-Mac anyone...)
So they would be able to pick up Bron and Bosh. In addition to about 3 or 4 other pieces. To go along with solid players in Douglas, Gallo and Chandler.
I think that's what the thinking is...But, like I said, I'm not 100% on it. So...Comment

What are we going to trade though? We have no assets outside of Curry's expiring and Gallo. I don't know, do you think the Raps would take Curry and Gallo for Bosh?"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I think they still have the cap hold on David Lee though...I THINK.So the only way to get Bosh is to S&T Lee and filler for Bosh.Comment

Because BC has a weird infatuation with Italians, he'd probably take Gallo without hesitation.Comment

Ok, this is where the salary cap starts getting over my head. Would this affect the cap differently than if we signed Bosh as a regular UFA?"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

That's what I was assuming before but I just don't know how the cap would work in that situation."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I REALLY hope Lebron stays away from Chicago. I don't like his "entitled" attitude and I think he'll infect guys like Rose and Noah.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment
