I think he said he'd be open to a S&T but don't remember him being dead set on it. You may no better than me though. I was under the impression that he was considering that option (and making it known) more for the ability to team up with one of the other big names than to get a "max" deal, but again, my guess is you know more about it than me.

And I'd say that Hickson would have roughly the same trade value as Lee.Too Old To Game Club

Yes. Fortunately for you, you weren't the only critic of his play style. Especially through the last quarter of the season, we saw Gallo do more than shoot the ball. He attacked the basket, got to the line, played D. Including against Denver when he went on the record saying he wanted to guard Carmelo Anthony (who dropped 50 on us the last time). While every NBA Analyst went on to lol and predict Melo replicating his feat, Gallo went toe to toe with Melo throughout the second half and the Knicks got the W. Gallo's defense improved dramatically over the course of the year, especially considering Mike Antoni's coaching. Gallo became one of about 4 players on our team that could effectively draw charges and about one of two that could block shots.
So pretty much all the players you're listing are guys that weren't going to be back regardless. Okay. In that case I agree, they are filth and they don't deserve another contract.
You're not looking in the right direction then. Next 3 years? Seriously? You put those two guys together, Chandler, Gallo, Douglas, Walker all improve and they will considering how many open looks they'll get. Curry's expiring deal fetches a solid player or two, or worse case scenario, we dump it next year and have more cap to add another player. We can proceed to use the MLE the following year.
Like what?

That's insane homerism. David Lee is a completely better basketball player than J.J. Hickson. Plus, the salaries don't even come close to matching up. Hickson is only scheduled to make 1.5 million this coming season.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Problem with this is you're not getting Bosh for Lee straight up I don't think for one and for two, everyone is naming off Lee as a reason the Knicks will be amazing with Bron and Bosh. If he's gone along with another prime piece of the Knicks puzzle how are they a better fit than Cleveland, NJ or Chicago? The Clippers had cap space to make some moves a few years ago when they signed Baron Davis and Elton Brand bolted to Philly after talking him there, don't the Knicks need something more tangible than saying 'we'll have capspace so anybody we want will come here?'Comment

I see that Philly is going to trade Iguodala if they take Evan Turner.
Thats a pretty exciting piece in a S&T scenario, no?Last edited by USF11; 06-21-2010, 05:27 PM."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

I guess not according to the report.
Plus I would want Drue Holliday on the floor as much as possible with Turner, and Thad Young.
Plus they added Spencer Hawes and Nocioni.
If they could move AI/Louis Williams in a Bosh swap the 76ers get real good real fast."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
I disagree. Hickson is younger, more athletic, and has potential. For a rebuilding team, I'd think he'd be more attractive than Lee, who for all intents and purposes, has hit his ceiling.
Pretty sure everything I've read is that Philly is not going to trade Iggy.Too Old To Game Club

And not one person has ever said that Lee is a reason the Knicks will be amazing with Lebron and Bosh. The only possible chance of Lee being a Knick next year is if they completely strike out in free agency. There is no room for him if they sign 2 max's.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

At this point I'd take Lee because of the lesser risk.Comment

Why not? The Knicks could sign Bosh straight up, so if Bosh tells the Raptors he wants to go to New York, you think they are in position to ask for more?

I still think Knicks have to acquire some kind of banging big man in order to get Bosh. I just don't see him coming here to play the 5. Haywood perhaps.Comment
