So people who think NJ have a shot are drinking Kool-Aid. But the Cleveland fans who think that they are still the favorites, despite really having zero facts to back it up are rational..

There is no way that LeBron will be back with the Cavs.
If he really wanted to, he would've signed an extension or new contract.

LeBron going to Chicago, Miami, NJ will get him another top player or two.
Going back to Cleveland gets him... nothing, same cast but older.

LeBron will have learnt from Garnett who was nice and took an extension in Minnesota. See what that got for Garnett? Nothing.
Garnett only won when he went to another team with talent.
Cleveland has no talent but the other teams have.
For what it's worth, Ric Bucher said this morning on Mike and Mike that it's 75% that he's going back to Cleveland. He is not from Ohio and is not a Cav fan.

My point is Derek Jeter is the captain of the team and is the biggest star on the team and has been for quite a while and at one point was the biggest star in baseball. Jeter has been the most hyped player on the Yankees for a looooooong time so it doesn't really matter if he's the best player or not. He's got five rings and is a Megastar and he isn't a billionaire on THE team in sports. Winning ONE championship with the Knicks is supposed to somehow put 240(?) million dollars in LeBron's pocket and Jeter's got five for the Yankees... Yankees > Knicks

No shocker he's interested in Jersey, or that he's not interested in NY.

The funny part about the Knicks' presentation about $ and spending so much time "selling New York City" is that every last bit of that applies to the Nets as well.

Why is Erik Spoelstra even attending the meeting with LeBron? If the Heat get LeBron, he's going to be fired the next day so Riley can take over coaching again.

Jeter isn't & has never tried to become bigger than his sports itself, which seems like what LBJ wants to be/do. That's the biggest difference between the 2.

I thought I remember hearing somewhere that Wade liked playing for Spoelstra? I could be wrong on that though lol

He didn't want to diss his HC.

If LBJ was to join the Heat it would have to be with Riles. He would be the only one to be able to keep that locker room straight.

True, but I'm sure Jeter isn't opposed to making money and being a huge star. Being the biggest star and captain of the biggest team in sports IN New York city, whether he wants to be bigger than the sport or not really shouldn't stop him from making huge dollars like what the Knicks are selling Bron on.

I just don't see how you can do it without endorsements which aren't going to just dry up and disappear unless you're in New York. There's really nothing that's going to pay more than 10 million dollars that's exclusive to New York City. Derek Jeter has been playing in New York on the most successful/marketable/historic team in all of sports for 15 years now and he isn't even topping the earnings list in his own sport let alone topping all athletes and is no where near the billion dollar mark and yet here we're being sold on LeBron being able to reach a billion on a team that isn't even the most valuable in it's league? I'm not going to say he can't make it, but I certainly have my reasons to doubt it.
LeBron in New York would net him enough to be a billionaire. I guess I'm the only one that disagrees that Jeter would still be bigger than LeBron in New York. As popular as Jeter is, LeBron would surpass him the moment he would sign that contract. I think the reason why Jeter isn't as marketable as he should be because on an individual level he never reached the potential LeBron has made.

Jeter is a good player and sure to be in the HOF one day. But what makes Jeter a legendary baseball player? Championships. BUT he's yet to win an MVP award. Jeter's marketability has never reached it's full potential because of that. His stats are good. BUT in Jeter's career, has there been a time when you could have said that Jeter is the best player in baseball? Maybe a top 5 player. BUT I would seriously doubt that outside of Yankee fans you would get anyone to say that Jeter was the best player in baseball at one time.

LeBron on the other hand is arguably the best player in basketball today. His career is no where near being done and he has 2 MVP awards. He would own New York. And if he did go to New York and multiple championships, his marketability would be on Jordan's level. Maybe even surpass it. But LeBron right now is the opposite of Jeter. LeBron is more noted for his individual skills and Abilities and Jeter is more noted for his 5 championships.

I'm pretty sure most people agree with me on this one but here is a break down of the teams if he chooses to play for and why he choose them:

                                Cleveland - Loyalty
                                Chicago - Winning
New York - Fame, Endorsements and Money
Miami - Weather and Wade gives up the spotlight
New Jersey - The Russian mob is holding LeBron's family hostage
                                LA Clippers - Insanity
I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm X
