Yeah, plus the WC and EC were equal during that stretch.

ESPN Radio said tonight that it looks like LeBron is leaning towards signing a 2-yr deal to remain in Cleveland. I just feel bad for the Cavs if that's the case. A repeat of the last two years - making desperate moves to win now and keep Prince James in town. Just acting like the girl who's about to be dumped but doing everything possible to keep the dude around. I guess that's a better scenario than flat out losing him this week.

My god Gallo has gotta be the most overrated player in the last 10 to 15 years of NBA basketball. Do people not realize how hard it is to average 20 points a night in the NBA? With all the **** moves the Knicks are going to make in the next two years, if they've got Amar'e, James, **** free agent signing, **** free agent signing, I don't see how King G is going to put up the 20 points a night he's envisioned to do by Knicks fans the world over as the third or fourth option.

Why does this thing filter out ****?

If LeBron ever went 6-24 in any game, there's a pretty good chance Cleveland isn't winning that game, let alone winning a championship.
And the Lakers came pretty close to losing that game.

If the Cavs had the huge free throw and rebound edge that the Lakers had, I don't think it's out of the question that they would win a game if Lebron had 23 and 15.

I'm not even a New York fan, so you can miss me with the hyperbole's pertaining to Gallinari. I understand the flavor of the month is hating New York, but Gallinari will develop into 17-20 ppg scorer, with the bulk of it coming from jump shots.
I'm not hating on Gallinari. I'm hating on the notion that Gallinari is a good player.

And to my knowledge, New York will have about 13 mil to spend next season. Adding more pieces to the core mentioned above.
That assumes they don't sign anyone else and go with all 1 year contracts this year. If that happens I can guarantee that Lebron is not signing.

I'm not an expert on the cap but I believe this is how it plays out:

Between the current roster and Amare and Lebron they should have about 51 million. Throw in 5 million to hit the max and a MLE and you're up to about 62 million.

Of that, Curry's contract would come off the books to bring it to 52.1 million. I would assume they pick up GOAT and Douglas, and even if they decline Walker they're looking at only about 5 million in cap space and that doesn't include the escalations in Amare and Lebron's contract.

Btw, D'Antoni's Phoenix teams made it to the conference finals twice with Amare.
What was the second year? 2005 and...?

So it's completely out of the question for a 21 year old Gallinari, who's already averaged 15 ppg, to ever average 17-20 ppg(which was my claim)?

You cant blame Donnie Walsh for what Isiah Thomas did. Walsh has put the franchise in a position to sign the best player since Jordan maybe of all time. Say what you want about Amare ,but offensively he cannot be guarded. If the Knicks do get LeBron I pick them to go to the Eastern Finals next year.

SMH. All of this hype for a ******* 2 year deal? Not saying it's Lebron's fault or anything but all of what we've had to go thru with this "Is he staying/is he going" nonsense and he takes a 2 year deal? LOL is all I gotta say if this is true.

Hmac called a long time ago that he'd probably take 3 years and bounce to Brooklyn afterwards, and there were several analysts saying the same thing.

Well we all know LeBron is a media whore and loves the spotlight so maybe he'll just keep signing 1 year deals so he can go through this nonsense every off-season.

Yeah the kid already averaging 15 i don't see why 20 is such a stretch. It's not like anyone is saying he's a future HOF'er but for someone that young there's no doubt he is ahead of the curve offensively. He could be an awesome 3rd option on a winning team imo.

I guess it's all stemming from the CBA next summer. He doesn't want to agree to any 5 year deals until he knows how the cap will work and what Cleveland & other suitors can do long-term with the new financial rules in place. His decision (if it does turn out to be true) makes sense on that hand, but at the same time the new CBA is supposedly going to have lower max's so he could cost himself quite a bit of coin.

All I've heard is a max deal with an out after Year 3, not a two-year deal in Cleveland. Such a max deal with an out would provide both flexibility and security.
After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!

This is the point that makes me question this report. And to my understanding its why Melo made his decision this year instead of waiting next year. Although I have heard the new CBA could affect current contracts I seriously doubt it will. LeBron's a smart dude and know's max money this year may be significantly lower than next year on. Can't see him leaving that kinda doe on the table just to sign short term.

Could LeBron Opt To Sign Two-Year Deal?

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News is reporting that there is a possibility LeBron James could sign a two-year deal with the Cavaliers this offseason.

Doing so would allow James to hit the market again in the summer of 2012 while still pledging his loyalty to Cleveland.

"Team executive hears that if LeBron re-signs with Cavs he might ink 2-yr deal and go through this madness again in 2012. Never know," Isola wrote on his Twitter page.

That seriously is a waste of time. Exactly how much better can the Cavs get between now and 2012? Guess all the talk of spending two years in Newark was right after all if he goes through with this.
