I just feel like he would've come out of this looking better if he at least made it appear that he still wanted to take on the challenge of leading a team.

They have a guy in D-Wade who is THE guy, who's already won something, and who will be running this team. It's not a good look.

As long as the NBA has a system that doesn't prevent teams that draft great young talent well from making them choose which one they want later on, I can live with it.

I already clarified my statement in a response to another guy. If legacy isn't an issue to him, it is what it is. But it would seem like he's still up for the challenge if he decides to go somewhere and sort of "build" something. Melo isn't there yet so I'll go with what they currently have.

          Why is that?
Much larger talent pool (an entire country) and nothing in place to force parity and discourage the formation of a super team. I don't feel like the NBA should be, or really has been recently, about that.

I don't get how, after years of a league where a megastar per team, classic rivalries, etc., is encouraged, suddenly this is looked at by some people as "what's the big deal...? he just wants to win a ring..." It's cool if that's how they wanna do it, but he's not coming out looking like much of a superstar anymore.

Hornets? Pish posh, you are only allowed to like either the Lakers, Celtics, or the Heat. Anyone who fails to comply by the start of the season will be tried for treason.
No he didn't.-your telling me he didnt just show those kids its all about me myself , and I? You obviously werent watching the same video. All Lebron talked about was me myself, and I. What I have to do. Honestly, people really like to do whats best for them in life these days. Thats the last thing I teach my kids. To each there own.

That time existed because players were forced into staying on their teams due to the lack of free agency. -bunch of crap, I still watch the 80's browns on sunday after browns games, they have stayed supportive of cleveland for years. There still in cleveland and love it. Bernie Kosar and tons of others still stay here and support cleveland to this day. Ive seen the same thing on many old time greats over the years. Jordan, and a few others have even said how the games changed, and its not about what it once was, and money and fame has changed the game.

If he wanted all the money and spotlight then he would've stayed in Cleveland.-really, we have the clubs and parties that miami has to live it large and spend some dough? I dont remember to many stars, celebs, and spenders living it large in Cleveland/Akron.

Cleveland's economy isn't his responsibility.-Then whose is it if its not the people who have lived and work here, and have major influence? You mean it will fix itself? Amazing....he doesnt even need to consider all the buisiness and people lives hes affected? What a easy world we live in.

It's hilarious how quick people turn. Lebron is by far one of the top 2 players in the league yet now people want to act like he's a scrub who can't play.
-In the rocky IV movie: -Ivan drago was the ultimate weapon, yet took the easy road with using steriods(bosh and wade). People like champions who fight through adversity(like he would have in cleveland as a underdog). If we wanted to choose the easy way in life we would vote for drago and the steriods he used to win. Honestly isnt the whole point of sports as a individual is to rise to the top through adversity? Or winning one for the team and community that has supported you.

I sure hope the olympics never turn into pro sports, or were gonna have some greedy olympians on our hands.

I hate the loyalty argument. This is modern sports, are you guys aware how this works? Athletes today are loyal to nobody but themselves. LeBron is no different. Because he happened to be drafted by his home town team he has to stay forever? He went to the team where he feels he has a better chance to win a title.

I'm not trying to defend him, and I've made no bones about how much I hate the way he went about this whole thing (the dragging it out when he clearly knew, the 1 hour special, the "look at me!"ness of it all), but I don't think him not being loyal is a reason to be mad at him. Loyalty doesn't exist anymore in modern sports.

Imagine this for a second. You are Dan Gilbert, or Chris Grant, or even Byron Scott. You had to sit and watch ESPN to find out what YOUR superstar was going to do. Really? No one, and I mean NO ONE can tell me that at least those guys didn't deserve to hear it first from him. Totally classless.

At least until the Hornets snag Melo next year.

Ya, and it doesnt make it right. Kids nowdays dont respect adults like they used to either. I dont accept that either. Everywhere I go, people say my kids are so well mannered, etc. Thats cause Im a good parent and dont follow along with the way the worlds trying to change into. People are selfish, it doesnt make it right.
