Boston is completely different. They didn't take pay cuts to play, they didn't plan this, they didn't make a mockery of the NBA FA system and both Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett entered Boston in their 30's and on the decline. We're talking about two players entering Miami in their mid 20's. Bosh gets a exception, he isn't a superstar, he isn't the self proclaimed King, the chosen one, and so forth. LBJ doesn't.

I'm still trying to figure out where this gravy train idea came from.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

And yeah that sick work ethic and determination that lead to him developing no post game and quitting in the playoffs. Ooo the tenacity.Comment

It's quite obvious that none of you guys know the meaning of COMPETITION. You try to beat the best not try to join the best.
Imagine If Lebron would have went to New York, or Chicago. That would have made about 6 eastern conference championship contenders right their. Now their's only 3 Boston, Miami, Orlando.

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
I get why people think LBJ isn't a leader (some have been saying/thinking this for a LONG time) and I completely agree. I don't really care for the guy and have even thought he was a phony.
Why does that make him a villain though, exactly? He's still at least the second best player in the league and apparently recognizes that he's not the guy who can carry a team to a title. No shame in that.
I seriously chalk most of the negative to simple immaturity. The guy is 25 and has had his ego spoon fed since he was a kid, pretty much. So all of the milking of his decision and the on-air announcement, etc can be chalked up to immaturity (ego should be a given with nearly every great athlete...immaturity is what makes it annoying). Even not contacting the owner prior (if true) is the act of a kid more than a villain. And to be honest, if the owner is reacting the way he is, I can kind of understand why someone would avoid telling him anything...lol.
Aside from immaturity though, he's helped raise money for a noble charity, decided to take a pay cut to win and play with 3 of his closest basketball friends, etc. I'm not saying that to make him seem like a good guy or anything...just finding all the hate laughable. I get Cleveland fans being disappointed, even pissed off, but everyone else droning about legacy and how they're ashamed/angry/whatever is off-the-wall to me.Comment

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
They knew what was going to happen. This decision wasn't made this week like they would like you to believe. It's been said by many it has been in the works for a long time. The bottom line is once the Heat cleared those extra contracts, the Bulls, Knicks, Nets, and Clippers never stood a chance. They were made a joke of with all these filmed documentaries. Even the Knicks and Bulls said Bosh was making a joke out of this process.Comment
