Chris Sheridan still bitter he didn't go to NY:

Regards to who should take the last shot.

Sheridan: D-Wade. It is still his team.

Besides the whole state of Ohio of course, its mostly us old folks(30+) who have a problem with the whole dog and pony show that this turned into.

His brand, legacy isn't going to take a hit with most kids(under 25), they don't care about the stuff like "be the best by beating the best", or "conducting yourself with class and integrity" they'll just continue to be dazzled by his superior physical gifts.

There are obviously exceptions on both sides of the age divide, but I think that there is a definitely a generational schism when it come to the reactions to what happen.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

it keeps getting better... just heard on my local sports station (WFAN) that Fathead.com is selling LeBron fatheads for $17.41... that the significance of the price was the year Benedict Arnold was born...

Reason for the price also? Cav's owner owns Fathead

It's interesting (but not surprising) that you would respond in such a manner. If it doesn't make sense to you, then move on. If others disagree with your take on it, learn to deal with that.

My question was to Brian as I know he'd respond maturely and likely wouldn't take it as anything more than an honest question. If you'd like to answer, feel free...but leave the nonsense elsewhere please.

Yes, and now WADE has bron. See a problem with that. Hes the piggy backer, not the leader. Hes a 25 year old going through mid life no championship crysis.......at 25!!!

Im just glad hes out of here. We dont need to invest more time in this clown. This was planned long ago, what a waste. My moma didnt raise no fool, this clowns heart was never in Cleveland. You cant be a champion when you dont care. He wants to get a easy ring, cause he doesnt have the heart to earn it.

What about the people who are bitterly ranting about him leaving? Do you think they want him to stay because it's what's best for him, or best for their rooting interest in their team? The selfish angle is crap if it's argued for selfish reasons...Just my opinion.
To be a man and make a decision in a timeframe that would help the team he swore he loved so dearly. To look at figures and see how his contracts could've been worked to build the champ team he wanted. To not be all about LeBron, inc. but, rather to be a part of the solution, not the problem. If you believe this was yesterday morning's decision, fine. I don't buy it one bit. A dream took shape a while ago. While the Cavs were selling the farm. Sure the team was making millions with him, I'd never argue that. He did a lot of good. But, at the end, he played the team like a fiddle, and hurt the team's future with his selfish, self-seeking ambitions. And he did it to a lot of teams, not just the Cavs. He has a very unselfish and mature game on the court. But off it? The guy is all about himself.

Like I said before, he's not really that different from the larger pool of sports athletes. Or the world, for that matter. It's called the "human condition." Problem is, he built his image on another brand, something old school. When it was tested with the greatest temptation of all, he came out looking 17 all over again. I'm not mad at him, just sad. Thought he was an old soul in a new (not better) world. Gave him the benefit of faith that now appears very unfounded. To me it's about the "hero" factor, always has been. This guy failed........

It's a possibility, but I think we're going to see this big three play the other one and Lakers vs. Thunder. But if Miami hasn't visited Cleveland by then we may see it.

I get that. You make some good points. I didn't care for the display either. I think immaturity is the main factor, but maybe it's more...I dunno. I don't pretend to know the heart of LBJ.

I guess, given the nature of how sports are today, that I'm a bit surprised so many people are shocked or dismayed at this kind of stuff. This is what sports predominately is now.

I understand the argument about "class" in terms of how the whole situation was handled, but I also see that this is what people want to see, sad as it may be. The ratings from his little display yesterday apparently killed. He wouldn't do it if people weren't buying into it, and a fair chunk of the people watching are hitting him up for his choices now. To me, that's part of the problem with it all. People are arguing from a moral base (not all people) and then ignoring that in their venom about the guy. The whole "two wrongs don't make a right" (since we've gone to some old school advice here) comes to mind.

                            Fair enough.

I guess I just had lower expectations is all...lol...less distance to fall or something. I never saw Lebron in that light. I always saw him as a kid who got a whole lot very fast and was living out his childhood fantasies as they came.

Everything he did was like a kid mimicking his heroes, except he got to do it publicly. His powder show, #23, his manner of speech, everything. He just seemed more like a kid playing dress-up than a grown man carving his own way. This decision seems along the same lines. "Ooh...I get to play with my friends and try to win it all!!!" As I've said before, it just smacks of immaturity and for me, at least, wasn't terribly surprising (in terms of reasoning...I wasn't expecting him to sign with Miami or anything).

As for how he handled it, I agree...it was crude. I just also have a hard time vilifying him for it though, as this is (as you've said yourself) the society he's a part of. There's a hungry market for what he did and he ate it up. Immature and crude? Yes. Evil and maniacal? I don't think so.

anyway, thanks for explaining your take.

I have no venom about the guy, he's just in need of a reality check. You can't make the world about you. Especially when you sell yourself as something entirely different. I tried to spell out how he could've made it easier. But he had painted himself into a corner. In hindsight, (which is always 20/20) he has been playing this out all along. The desire to not resign and test the FA waters, the comments at the end of this season, they all put the handwriting on the wall. But here's my big beef. He was always hoping the SuperTeam would come to be. And played poker with the Cavs future while watching it solidify. Be a man, have some honor and say I'm not really feeling a future in Cleveland. Then the Cavs could've prepared.

I do find it ironic that he brought up the relationship stuff on GMA this morning. Here's my take on it. He's no different than a guy who gets a great job, with a beautiful secretary. Then he goes home and tells the wife who's stood by him all these years, putting him through college whie she worked two jobs "I'm in love with someone else, I'm leaving you." So when the spurned spouse gets upset because her man said "for richer, for poorer, till death do us part" gets mad, is she wrong? I'm gonna throw in one more of those old, tired truisms. "You dance with who brung ya." I'm not saying that KG was wrong in what he said. I just don't think that LBJ should've looked at things that way. IMO, he's done more harm than good. Not just to his own self, but to the fans of Cleveland. The reason this is soooo huge is because he basically dogged the city on National TV, and made it abundantly clear who this is/was all about.... No hero, not even close....
