Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

I can't hate on his decision. Living in Miami, playing with 2 good friends, one who is a great player the other a very good player, all during the prime of their careers. It's probably what I would have done, lol.

But I'm just surprised, I thought Lebron was wired a little differently than that.

Boozer, but he was 3 years away from his first all-star appearance when he did it, and wasn't really a marquee player. If Lebron had done what Boozer had done the internet would have exploded and ESPN would be twice as bad as it is now with all the Lebron stuff.

Lebron. Why? This cat threw a playoff series! How does it get worse than that?

TBH I would have been leaning towards teaming up too if I was in the same situation.

But in the end I would have probably took the more "challenging" route and chose another team b/c I know that the things people would say about me would get to me.

I'd rather win 1 or 2 rings with me being the top dog then win 5 on a team where 2 other players can have just as much as an impact on each game.

Especially if I was a talented as Lebron now if I got Bosh's talent then I don't care I'm teaming up lol!!

Lol! Good one. I see your point. No pun intended. But everything put in its totality, what Lebron did was insanely wicked. He intentionally lost a game and series that his team ( that everyone that supports lebron says was weak and not good enough) could have won. In the spirit of sports and competition, it don't get no worse than that. That is Pete Rose bad.

Glorious Nyets offered maximum rubles amount to King LeBron and get verbal commitment of "maybe." Black friend Jason-Z say Miami is nice place to live. I say Trenton is nice place to live. Almost nice as Moscow.

                  1. I make giant billboard to block sun in Miami. Not nice place anymore. Property value down. Will Smith make no more song about glory of Miami.

                  2. I buy Heat and trade King and comrade Bosh to Nyet. Prime Minister Stern will have to be terminate for this to be allow. I will crush Prime Minister Stern. Then move Heat to Novosibirsk to die in famine of cold Russian winter. You now have cheer for Magic.

                  3. I release my Boris Bear in center of Miami. You are no longer safe.

Boozer and LeBron are on equal ground.

Ironically, the Cavaliers organization was not the victim in each case because they did something stupid to facilitate it. But both of them wanted to leave, but with different motivations.

Based on this story is there really any doubt that LeBron didn't want to win a championship in Cleveland, but was more motivated on playing with his "friends"? Perhaps LeBron was afraid winning a championship in Cleveland would make it impossible for him to leave so he threw the Boston series? I'd hope not, but for anyone that watched the series it could be questioned if he gave full effort.
Fantastic read. I don't doubt that these guys had this thing planned out long term, and that LeBron quit on the Cavs in Game 5, because he knew he was leaving anyways.

Some great posts in here from Blue N Gold and 23.

So does this basically sum up the situation? :

                          1. people who are 'mad' are mostly mad because of how he left, not because he left.

                          2. people use the whole 1 hr "decision" show as example of LeBron being full of himself, arrogant etc, others use it as a positive because it raised millions from a charity

                          3. People say he is weak because he left to go to another "alpha dog's" team. Others make the observation that no-one in the history of the nba (maybe other than the Billups/ Rip / Wallace Pistons) has won without another hall of famer which Cleveland didn't look capable of acquiring.

                          4. People say LeBron took "the easy way out" by signing with the Heat while other say going to a team like the Bulls would have been easier.

                          5. People say LeBron is selfish for leaving the city/area that raised him while others say the fact that he turned down more money and is possibly subjegated his ego in hopes of winning a title show that he really is about winning and that's it.

I don't see any of these arguments being settled.

Funny he didn't put up this much effort trying to get Bosh in Cleveland, or any free agents for that matter over the years.

And don't let the talk about "sacrificing money" fool you. If they sign max deals in other cities they aren't seeing the full 16.5 mil or whatever the number is once it's done getting taxed. It'll be down to around 13-12 something mil after state and federal taxes which still has quite a bit going to lawyers and agents and the like. Signing 14. something million dollar deals in a state with no state tax let's them keep a very nice chunk of that change. It's as big a load of garbage as "The Decision" being a way to raise money for charity. LeBron James has generational money, if he wants to give money to charity he just has to write a check.
