Yeah, there is no way in hell this wasn't planned/thought out for months. Unless people really believe LeBron's magical dream gave him the answer to go to South Beach.
And so what? Big deal if it was planned, how's that illegal?

C'mon man. You know LeBron was telling the truth when he said it came to him in a dream the night before. No free agents have ever planned their moves ahead of time and no players in the nba have ever discussed joining each other to play together. These massive decisions that could cost them millions of dollars are made on a whim, surely you know that.

If you act like LeBron doesn't owe Cleveland ANYTHING than your kidding yourself. They gave him the world and the franchise. Was that wrong? Maybe. But he owed Cleveland an honorable departure and not this charade of dragging them through the **** pile on national television.

Couldn't even talk to ownership to let them know, He had one of his "boys" talk to them. What a coward.
So you're going to dismiss my comments simply because I'm a Heat fan? Ok then.

I never said this team is a guarantee to win a championship, but his chances are better teaming up with Wade and Bosh.

Then I must be kidding myself as you say because I don't think Lebron owes the Cavs anything, he left as a free agent, I agree that the way he left was wrong and disrespectful but outside that he doesn't owe them anything. Cleveland didn't work hard enough a) to secure enough talent to help him and b) his team mates went missing in the playoffs.

Lol, yeah, it's not like these decisions are potentially career altering or anything. Decisions of this nature should be made quickly, no point in planning ahead or thinking about possible scenarios that may play out in the future.

But him quitting in the playoffs was ok?

LeBron also had turned down a trade for Amar'e because he like JJ Hickson too much. But Cleveland didn't try. Ok.

He owed Cleveland something. They gave him control of the franchise, the city, everything. To do what he did was cowardly and then to say that Gilbert needs to look in the mirror, shows that this guy thinks the world revolves around him. He's a clown. I guess it's completely appropriate to leave to a franchise that gives two nut hairs about the team. So at least if he pulls this crap again, the fan base can collectively keep on not caring.

Whats funny is all the talk of him quiting in the playoffs. He had a horrible series not by anybody else's standards, but his own. He never made an excuse of the elbow, etc. If my memory serves me correctly he had 19 rebounds in the last game as part of a triple double. Nobody performs at the highest level every game, just look at game seven from the nba finals as proof that players will struggle at times, even the all time greats.

I watched every game, and I agree he played as poorly as he has played since his rookie season, but calling a guy a quitter is a step I'm not willing to go. I can't bring up other players (not what the thread is about)in other scenarios who have played just as poorly as he did, but they weren't accused of quitting.

How about the fact that he already knew where he was going?

Yes, I fully believe he quit. He quit in game five and six. Even if he had "great" stats in game 6, he had 9 turnovers. He was not assertive, he was not going all out.

He did not leave it all out on the court and that wasn't the same LBJ that I saw for the 7 years before hand. But he flat out quit in Celtics series.

Maybe the Delonte West Rumors were true and he needed to get out of dodge. Also all of this traitor talk is crazy. He wants to play with D-Wade and Bosh.......so what.

I dont think the saying, "Lebron gave the cavs 7 years, and made them relevant" holds any weight to it. Lets face he was paid, and paid well to play for us those 7 years, it wasnt done for charity. Second, was it really good for the cavs in truth? As of now, the only thing Lebron has done for the Cavs to win a championship, is give us 2 first round draft picks in the years to come. Id say we paid a lot for those. You have to wonder if the cavs would have drafted another all star instead of Lebron, or just traded him for 2 great players, would the Cavs have been better off? I mean, we dont have a ring....just some tarnished MVP's. Personally, I dont see that Lebron gave us anything other then maybe finacial gain from ticket sales and endorsements.

My take on the subject:
LeBron will go down as ONE OF THE all-time greats, even if he does play alongside a couple all-stars. By the way, it's not like he is the first to ever do that. 80's Celtics= Bird, Michale, Parrish. 80's Lakers= Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Perkins. Lakers from way back when= West, Baylor, Chamberlein. Not to mention, Chamberlin came from Philadelphia, his all-time rep was not ruined. Kareem came from Milwaukee but people don't talk about him playing alongside HIS all-star crew, because regardless, over time people will forget the details and only see highlights of them playing.
The only thing LeBron owed Cleveland was maybe doing a press conference instead of going on national television. However, if most people in the WORLD wanted to see it when he made his decision, then it was the right way to go. It was a matter of luck that Cleveland got the number 1 pick in 2003 and though it's sad to see someone leave their home state, it is admirable to see someone go after their dreams when presented with a great oppurtunity.
As for Gilbert, though I do not agree with his comments, I understand he was mad and needed to vent, but probably should have gone about it in a different way.
Either way, LeBron will be known for being a great player, (possibly a champion), an olympic gold medalist, and a great person. I know people in Cleveland probably won't see him as a good person but when you listen to him speak, you can see that he is. When he saw people burning his jersey the man looked like he was about to break down. He gave the city all he had and it's sad to see it go down like this.

Don't know how you can come to the conclusion that he is a great person.

1. Drug his hometown through a pile of **** on national television.
2. Referred to himself in the third person 5-6 times on "The Decision"
3. Didn't even personally talk to Cavs ownership before making the decision.
4. Told Cavs owner Dan Gilbert he needs to look himself in the mirror for being upset.

This guy is an ego driven clown.

1. I assume you say this merely because he did the entire thing on national television?

2. News flash, there isnt many superstars in the NBA that dont have a gigantic ego, LeBron isnt the first and definitely wont be the last.

3. That doesnt show hes a bad person as much as it shows hes immmature. A bad person and an immature person are totally different things.

4. He was spot on, Gilbert is an idiot for lashing out publicly like that and for LeBron being such a bad person he certainly passed up on a golden opportunity to rip back into Gilbert but didnt.
