100% agreed. How he announced his team of choice. Yeah I did not think that was to good. If the roles were reversed and this was how Wade would have left Miami I would burn Wades jersey too. LOL.

But he has to apologize for nothing.

Lack of class in his decision-making? Showing some empathy for the fans that supported him through the years?

Call me old, but I always thought athletes should appreciate the fans that cheer for them.

Perhaps all the disgust that came out of his decisions have moved him beyond that point, but I think to act like his actions were completely just is a bit out in left field...

Mind you, I'm not involved either way but I can see why their are fans that feel slighted.

It was a lack of class and not something a professional athlete should ever do. You do a press conference like every other free agent in the history of sprots has and announce your decision. Not have a 1 hour ESPN dog and pony show.

But no apology. Not needed. He is a grown man, made his decision and he does not have to apologize for that or they way he made it. In his mind he did nothing wrong.

What's done is done, I'm just saying an apology at this point and at any point would be hollow and meaningless. A national apology would only seem to admit guilt, he's not guilty of anything.

I don't really understand how his decision-making lacked class, it was on TV yes, but would've been on TV regardless if it was coming straight from his mouth or not. He's the most talked about player in the NBA, people wanted to see where he was going. Why is he wrong for telling people that straight from his mouth instead of ESPN reporting it. Yeah it was me, me, me but that's Lebron and how he's been forever, he's not changing that, he's not the first athlete with a gigantic ego and won't be the last.

Not calling Gilbert? Yeah maybe he should have done that, but he doesn't owe Gilbert anything. Gilbert paid him for 7 years, Lebron played for him for 7 years.

The fans? Lebron played his heart out for them for 7 years and they cheered for 7 years. How could he possibly show his appreciation for the love they've given him in a one page newspaper ad?

If a national press release saying he's sorry would make people in Cleveland feel better about the situation then they can keep hoping it's coming.

Amare handled his situation admirably, but I just can't compare how he left Phoenix to the situation Lebron was in leaving Cleveland. The circumstances are different. Lebron was everything in Cleveland, Amare was just a really good power forward on Steve Nash's team, It makes it alittle easier for the fanbase to accept you leaving when you aren't even the most talked about player on the team.

It has nothing to do with being old and lame in this situation . You are right. LeBron completely mishandled his situation in every way possible.

I could pretty much never defend him for what he did with The Decision. It's the other stuff when people just rag on him for petty things that annoys me and I disagree with.

The only possible difference between the decision and a press conference would be that the decision was sanctioned by Lebron. There still would have been an hour long special leading up to the press conference and New York, Cleveland, and Chicago fans would still be mad.

Of course we can see the huge difference. Nobody cared about Amare. He's a good player, but unless he was joining one of about 3 teams (of which New York is not included) he wasn't changing the NBA.

Lebron could have gone to Memphis or the Clippers and we'd be talking about a contender.
