Was just going to say this too, took the words out of my mouth.

Sorry Cebby, his first 6 seasons, is that better for your sake?

In his 7th season, outside of Pippen and Grant, they had no one special.
And outside of...well, the Cavs didn't have anyone special.

Not only were the Bulls better than the Cavs but they were a lot younger. Pippin and Grant were 25 and Armstrong was 23. Lebron had 33 year old Jamison, 37 year old Shaq, and Mo Williams.

And LeBron has a significantly better team around him here in his 7th season than the first six
Which is still a bad team.

and he's running out on it before giving it a full year to see how things will work playing with Jamison.
Something tells me that a year with 34 year old Jamison isn't the difference between the second round and a championship.

The Bulls won 55 games without Jordan. If the Cavs do that then by all means bash Lebron for not being able to win. Chances are, they aren't going to come close to 55 wins.

Why does everyone keep saying that LeBron played on a good team?

I would love someone to justify that statement after typing out the 2009-2010 Cleveland Cavaliers roster minus LeBron

This topic has been beat to death but it exposes a lot of biased people. Their next "point" will be that it was James' fault for either not recruiting other stars or committing to Cleveland so they could get help. Still waiting to hear how either of those scenarios makes any sense.

He had a "good" team just not a "championship worthy" one. This is easily the case when you look across and see what LA had inside and off the bench. What Orlando had in their starting lineup, Boston's Big 4, I could go on.

His best Robin in his 7 year career was Mo Williams. People will then say he had all-stars around him. A never better than a third wheel Jamison and a 40 year old Shaq. A Mo Williams who is a one dimensional choker [who should never be considered an all-star for any reason]. Try again.

I'm not, I'm responding to everyone thinking Jordan had good teams all the time, more specifically in his first 6-7 years.

              Never threatened by quitters.

Also, he had arguably a better team the last two years and didn't make it but with no Mo Williams/West/Jamison they got to the Finals. Maybe we are pointing the finger at the wrong person here. I think after 07 LeBron had already mentally checked out.

I mean a lot of people just don't see it that way. I think I heard someone say yesterday that team was hyped up to win the Championship the last 2 years. They had the talent to win.

But oh well lol...Just have to wait to see how this all plays out.

Come on now man? History is different now? Cavs weren't hyped to be champions or at least very strong contenders for the title the last two years? All of a sudden we all went into the last two seasons KNOWING the Cavs wouldn't make it out of the EAST let alone not have a legit shot at winning a championship? Okay...

In fairness the way your post is worded makes it seem like you're saying what you heard was BS something. If it's not what you meant then disregard the post, but that is the way it looks.

Sounds like that's what he's saying. If not, I don't know why he'd bring it up.

At the supermarket the other day I heard someone say that I could get 5 apples for a buck. I don't know why I said that, but I just felt like sharing.

You realize that when you throw out these ambiguous "two completely different situations...." "they haven't played a game yet...," or "let's see how this all plays out...," you aren't actually saying anything or answering the question right?

You heard someone say that they were hyped up as the favorites to win the title for the last two years BECAUSE THEY WERE. Unless you watched zero ESPN, there's no way that you didn't hear Legler, Mashburn, Jon Barry, etc., waxing poetic about that team. Everybody loved the Shaq and Jamison trades but I'm pretty sure that you knew, when they were made, that it wasn't gonna work right? 60+ wins in a season, and you were pretty sure that they still weren't going to make it all the way? Not even close to a favorite?

I'll just ask, do you not agree with that poster's sentiments?

I mean, that's not even the point of this thread (the topic changes quite a bit) but please, don't let that allow to dodge the question again. I'm really interested to see if you were the lone member of the NBA-watching community who didn't see the Cavs ripping everyone apart during the regular season, while the Celtics were losing left and right (while everyone was calling them old), and still knew that the roster was SO garbage, that they had no chance in the playoffs.

And neither won a championship during that stretch. So that point isn't really relevant.

and he's running out on it before giving it a full year to see how things will work playing with Jamison.
And in LBJ's 7th season the only 'special' player he had around him was Jamison. Who, by the way, is 34 and on the downward end of his career.

And of course this doesn't even bring up the fact that other good players didn't want to go live in Cleveland. No offense Cleveland people.

The explanation is so obvious it barely needs pointing out but I'll do it anyway. The eastern conference is simply better than it was in 06-07 when the Cavs pulled off an unexpected playoff run. Boston didn't have the big 3 (now 4) and Orlando wasn't the championship contender that they are now. The only teams that was really dangerous that year in the east were an aging Detroit Pistons team that the Cavs beat and the Heat who got swept in a first round upset.

I believe that was the point I was trying to make, maybe you need to read a little further. Jordan didn't run, LeBron did.

Yeah but the Cavs techncially improved as well, and had the best player in the league on their team. So maybe it really isn't that obvious.

Once again, if free agents KNOW that LeBron James is staying in Cleveland you think they're going to pass up on the team? So I'm to believe that guys are willing to take up to 4 million dollars less than they can get in other places to play on what they think can be a for sure thing in Miami, but to play with LeBron in Cleveland with some obvious solid third and fourth options there they won't go because they don't want to live in Cleveland? But suddenly everybody is all moral about just winning no matter the sacrifice? Uh huh.
