Two baiting posts in a row... please don't continue this trend. Read through the thread to find answers to both of these.

Even tho it was stated in a inappropriate way, i honestly believe that the best person on the team is who the team belongs to regardless of what the other person did before they arrived. And that would include if Lebron was to go to the Spurs right now even after the decade dominance of Duncan. Everyone might not see it that way. As a matter of fact i'll delete the previous posts

          I agree.

Wherever LeBron went in the NBA, it would become his team immediately. That's if you think LeBron is the best player in the league, which I do.

Cleveland 19 News in Ohio is first, fair and everywhere when it comes to breaking news, severe weather forecasting, investigative reporting, traffic alerts and in-depth sports coverage for Northeast Ohio.

LAS VEGAS, NV (WOIO) - LeBron James gave one of his hometown fans something to talk about while partying in Vegas earlier this week.
James was letting loose at Lavo Restaurant and Nightclub inside the Palazzo hotel Monday morning, July 26th around 3 a.m. when Canton, Ohio's Mix 94.1 FM radio personality "Fig" made the comment.
"Eventually I got up front and I said, 'hey man Akron sill loves you' had the camera up snapped it a few times he kind of gave me the bird and smiled," said Fig.
Way to keep it classy LeBron!
Now there's no doubt in Fig's mind that LeBron flipped him off. He said LeBron wasn't real thrilled earlier in the evening when he was introduced and most of the people in the nightclub boooooed, but he never expected this.
"This is unlike LeBron so I think the reaction is pretty negative and its see ya man have fun in Miami," said Fig.
Earlier this week, the Akron City Council unanimously approved a resolution thanking James for 'his extraordinary basketball accomplishments and his continuing involvement in the Akron community.'
According to the Akron Beacon Journal, council president, Marco Sommerville said, ''no matter what his decision was, he's still from Akron, Ohio. He's a hometown person who we need to support.''

              You guys are kidding yourself.

If he goes to Boston, that's Pierce's team.
              If '' '' '' Orlando, that's Dwight's team.
If '' '' '' San Antonio, that is still Duncan's team.

Just like him going to Miami, it is still Wade's team. All those players have established themselves as the franchise player, as the leader of those teams. Best player in the NBA or not, LeBron going to the Heat doesn't change that one bit. It's Wade County, it's Wade's team, he is the leader. LeBron will never be that. Will never be a leader, he has already shown that. If Wade would of went to Cleveland it would of been different but not the other way around.

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

I think at this point we all need to realize that LeBron is just a 6'8" 250 lb child who is great at basketball and lives in a completely different world than anyone else. Story after story of his immaturity comes out (my least favorite being him not understanding what sportsmanship is after not shaking hands with Dwight after the Magic knocked Cleveland out 2 years ago) and that's the conclusion I've reached.

He's been treated like a God since he was 14/15 years old, and 10 years later he hasn't changed a bit. It's just cemented by the amount of love and respect he gets regardless of his personal behavior. As long as LeBron averages near triple-doubles, that's not going to change.

Him and Kobe are similar in that manner. Kobe is just less child-like and more arrogant, which makes him harder to handle than LeBron.

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

So then as I'm to understand and we're just going to be hypothetical here. It's 1998 Bulls win the championship and make it six for the franchise. Difference here is, Krause leaves and Jordan/Phil/Pip sign five year extensions. Fast foward, it's now 2003 Jordan and co. are still going (eight titles now) and Jordan of '03 is the real life Jordan of '03 we saw with the Wizards, clearly not the best player in the league. Bulls however have made a deal bringing in Kobe Bryant from the Lakers. Clearly '03 Kobe is better than '03 Jordan. The Chicago Bulls are now Kobe Bryant's team?

I know, I know it's different cause it's Jordan and the Bulls and it's always different for the Bulls around here.

I heard countless Heat fans in Miami say they'll forget about Wade if LeBron goes there.

If Jordan in his prime left the Bulls and went to any team, it's the same thing. That team would immediately have become Jordan's. That's how I look at it now and that's how history will view it.

I don't really agree about Orlando. Dwight isn't really a Batman kinda guy I don't think, so I think LeBron would have been embraced as the Man there. The other two situations u posted are correct though.

Now you're playing hypotheticals, like if the star/franchise player leaves then the new star, it becomes his team. That goes without saying doesn't it, because he isn't there anymore? We are talking about the star player still being there, with an established reputation. It doesn't work that way.

And don't compare Jordan to LeBron...lol.

If Tim Duncan, Paul Pierce, or even Dwight Howard or Dwyane Wade went to Cleveland and Cleveland lost LeBron, Cleveland fans would be disappointed. As a Magic fan who loves Dwight Howard, I would easily make the trade of Dwight for LeBron, just because he's the best player in the NBA. I can't say that about any other player in the league, and maybe that's just me and my team.

I don't think tradition and established city heroes exist the way you might think it does. The NBA is a what have you done for me lately league, and LeBron is the latest and greatest. Boston fans would have no trouble calling it LeBron's team. San Antonio would embrace LeBron fully as the face of their franchise, even after all Tim Duncan has done for them. And your Bulls would look over Derrick Rose/Luol Deng/Joakim Noah and claim LeBron the King of the Windy City.

If any fans with established superstars want to chime in on this, I would love to hear their views, too

And LeBron and Jordan are extremely comparable at this point in their careers (6/7 seasons in). No championships yet, but widely considered the best players in the league.

Isn't that the point I just made. Within the last ten years, the players I've named have established themselves and brought success to those franchises. Fans aren't quick to forget that, unless they move out of town. Of course it wouldn't be Rose's team because he had only been there two years and hadn't established himself yet, but he will.

That's not the point you just made. A decade is a very long time for NBA fans. Heat fans and Celtics fans were nowhere to be found when their star players were struggling and their teams were putting up the worst records in the league. The bandwagon comes and goes very quickly. I still remember the Celtics being KG's team when he first signed, despite Pierce being there for years and playing his butt off every night for a crappy team in a half-full arena. It only finally returned to Pierce after he became the hero of the Finals.

That's something Wade is going to have to do if he wants to still be the man in Miami, is outplay LeBron.

No offense to you guys, but I don't really want to have this conversation anymore. I already wrote the same things about three weeks ago in this same thread if you want to read and respond to the points made then.
