LeBron definitely deserves ridicule for his part of the Decision. Especially when he already knew he was going to the Heat anyway but carried on with the dog and pony show.
Are you seriously saying you wouldn't have been pissed if he had just had a normal press conference to announce he was leaving? I think the result would have been the same except without the parodies (some of which are hilarious see: Steve Carell + Paul Rudd at the ESPY's in 2011)

That first year in Miami had a lot of douchebaggery and that introduction party or whatever was pretty cringeworthy, I'll admit. But since then the Heat have been a lot better. You can thank Dallas for that.

It would have sucked and stung if Lebron had just left with a normal oress conference, but it wouldn't have been nearly as bad.

The problem is that since there was such a small percentage of fans that burned stuff I don't know how they would have reacted. They might just be *******s and/or drunk. However, generally it would have been a much cleaner split.

He could've told Gilbert 5 minutes before, man. There is literally no reason to not let the Cavs know what's going down before the rest of the world. That was just a very, very, very bad move. He acted like someone who is so self centered that he had no idea the spectacle he set up would be frowned upon by Gilbert and Cavs fans. There's really no way to defend "The Decision". There was no intent though... just stupidity.

I don't think the intent was bad exactly, because even as mad as I think he was at that time, I don't think LeBron was/is that kind of dude that he would be that vicious. I think he just thought in his mind that it would be cool and good for his brand to make a show out of his choice and if it flopped he could just say it was for a good cause. Having said that, he's a smart media savy guy. He had to know that cameras were going to end up getting posted up on every heart broken Cleveland fan possible to capture they're exact reaction when he gave his answer because that's what's known in showbiz as the money shot. There's no point in even airing some **** like that as a network if you don't have that contrasting shot of the team he picks fans' reaction and the fans of his former team.

He was most definitely not a smart, media savvy guy at the time. That was the worse of his "decisions" but there were plenty others to show he, and his people, had no idea the stage he was on when it comes to that stuff.

This here is the only thing that makes me wonder if he actually may really go back to Cleveland.

I figured after The Decision debacle the one thing that would be certain is that LBJ would shut down the return to Cleveland talk before it could even get started. I know he's said absolutely nothing but in the mean time he's allowed the media to start turning this into a circus again.

Media savvy people know how to "control the message". LBJ and his team are letting hacks like Broussard act as his mouth piece regardless if the information is accurate or not. If he ends up staying in Miami there is going to be some amount of backlash for letting Cleveland down again. After what happened last time he and his team should have never let it reach this point.
              Good job! Good effort!

I see what you're saying, but I doubt he cares about "letting anyone down". He has no obligations to the feelings of people who are fans of somewhere he played like 4-5 years ago lol.

This is the part I just will never understand. You draft Wiggins. And then try to bring LeBron on. Don't they play the same portion position? Just leave LeBron alone. And worry about developing Wiggins.

Man if you have a chance to get the best player in the game, you go for it. Kawhi Leonard just won Finals MVP and has a ton of upside, bud if Brons available I am going after him with without a second guess...

I understand he has no obligation to any fans, but he still has ties to Cleveland and he and his family spend a lot of time in the area. By all indications most of the fans there have gotten over The Decision and are excited about the young team they are building.

He's given no indication of what he's doing at all, it's all been what the sauces have reported and his agents supposedly have leaked, but it's nothing that he's said. I doubt he's telling his people "hey, let brian windhorst know i'm getting a massage in cleveland next week!" in the hopes that it causes a stir.

he's letting the speculation run rampant but I doubt it's by design, it's because he simply has to make a pretty big decision in his life and he needs time and if people are gonna speculate then that's not his fault and there's nothing he can do about it if he doesn't go back and their hearts are "broken"
