Re: The LeBron James Thread
I think what will happen is James signs a 1 or 2 year deal with MIA. Then we are doing this again as early as next year. What is interesting is if James signs a short term deal what does Bosh do?You looking at the Chair MAN!
Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I scoff at the idea that Miami is somehow a better basketball situation for LeBron than Cleveland.
Miami is going to literally be LeBron and Bosh next year if he goes back. Wade is declining to the point he cannot play in a back to back, the rest of them are aging players who aren't getting better. LeBron would be banking on Josh McRoberts, Danny Granger and Shabazz Napier being the key ingredients in getting past the Spurs or any other WC power.
I just don't see that being a championship team. It doesn't look like a title winner.Too Old To Game Club

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Here is what I think happens.
-Carmelo A and Lebron hold out to see if they can force Bosh to sign with the rockets (contract deadline). If they can, Lebron and Anthony sign to the Heat. Everything else was just smoke and mirrors, buying time to force Bosh or Wade out of Miami for Anthony.
I am from Akron Ohio, and I would love to see LeBron come home, but this guy has always been about the easiest wins, and the spot light, he has never been all about winning a championship for the city of Cleveland (which is just outside of Akron btw). He can make any choices he wants to, it's his career, his life, just wish sometimes he had a little more grace and humility to his "decision making". I'd love to see him prove me wrong, and take the challenge to win one in Cleveland. I just don't see LeBron doing that until possibly he is "washed up" on his "last legs" someday.Last edited by BigDaddyHolmes; 07-11-2014, 11:16 AM.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
If LeBron does say his reason for not going to Cleveland is because of the 4 yr old letter, then shame on him for this entire charade. He would have known from the beginning that he would never play for Gilbert again. Just would tell me he was looking to paint Gilbert as the bad guy and play with Cleveland's emotions once again, all for his moments in the spotlight again. I sure hope this isn't the case. Just thank the fans for wanting you back, tell the Cavs organization thanks for what they have done, and then announce you are going to the Heat. It's not going to pretty either way, but at least this way you appear to care about fans that supported you in your first 7 years.
Regarding the entire leaving Cleveland for Miami thing. I still think Jordan, Bird, Magic never would have left Cleveland in the first place. I agree with pat Riley comments that champions (not ring chasers) don't duck and run. They beat all odds. That is what used to be taught to kids, don't give up, strive for your goals. Now days it's all changing to "put yourself in the easiest position to win". Very sad, because it takes away from the very reason we used to love sports, which is the will and heart of champion to beat all odds, and do what people thought couldn't be done. That being said, Dan Gilbert did make some comments he should have just left alone. The last half that letter about the curse going with lebron was ju dumb IMO too. That was 4 yrs ago though. At this point, if Lebron hasn't moved on from that letter, why is he even floating the idea he could be returning to Cleveland? Should have been stated from the beginning, he could never play under Dan Gilbert because of the letter IMO.
Hard for Bird and Magic and Jordan to leave when you have the likes of:
McHale
Parrish
Johnson
Ainge
Kareem
Scott
Worthy
Cooper
Pippen
Rodman
Grant
Kerr
BJ
Great top coaches, ownership, tradition...
etc etc etc etc
Completely different era where salary cap was not a factor. Players can be brought in and retaining your stars was far easier.
Cleveland gave nothing for Lebron to work with. He was a free agent and he left.
Barkley left twice!
Shaq left twice!
Guys......Lebron is the best player on the planet. And if he stays and finishes his career in Miami he will go down as one of the very best. If he again goes out the back door IMO he will look foolish.
You get a pass to leave once. But once you start team hopping...it looks ridiculous. He never had what he needed in Cleveland. So you think he should just stick it out with that inept GM and owner.
Ok.
He left and came to a winning organization and I am 100% sure he is staying here. If he does in fact bolts....all bets are off on his legacy.
Riley's press conference was powerful. It's not easy to win titles. But The Heat have been in that very position 4 straight years. So what do you do when you lose? You come back. You work harder. You re-tool. You don't rebuild.
The Cav's are still rebuilding. They are no where near ready with coaching, talent and experience. Nor is their track record good. You can tell me they will bring in Love. So....how many post season games has he played? How many has Kyrie played? How many seasons has Kyrie finished yet?
Come on people. Lebron is staying here.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 07-11-2014, 11:17 AM.Now Playing on PS5:

You can talk about Riley and Spoles all you want. All I know is this: The Heat are a sinking ship. LeBron isn't going to waste the end of his prime playing 48 minutes a night to hopefully get back to the Finals and get his *** destroyed by the Spurs again.Too Old To Game Club
