We live in a media/internet era...

What top HS kids are not being hyped up right now? heck it would be worst if the HS rule was not enforced...

And enough with the hometown thing...

Philly dont even claim the best Basketball player in the league right now...AI is more of a Philly native than Kobe...

Ask Jameer or Tyreke where their from...They will claim Chester without even thinking about Philly which is less than 30 mins away from where the Sixers play...

Wanting to be ONE of is being humble...I thought people bash PBF for claiming he's the GOAT of boxing?

Heck pretty much anyone who claims their the GOAT at something is automatically hated on, so why would anyone want that?

So what the **** are you trying to ask us man because I could've sworn I just answered your question? LOL

And I didn't mean Homegrown as in Hometown, I meant it as in dudes who were in essance a 1st or 2nd year player in the league and they got better and better along with you as your career progressed.

So because others would hate you, that means you should just settle for less then and not be THE best at what you do? Good logic there.

That was Magic Johnson's Bio...A player who LBJ compares himself too......

            It was a sarcastic question...

Magic would have the same resume(Basketball wise, dont throw in the petty "he left Cleveland" excuse)as LBJ if everything goes right...Magic is considered the GOAT by some...

So who's ceiling should we start at? Manute Bol? Nick Anderson? Penny Hardaway? LOL

If that's what you choose to believe. I don't play "ifs" or hypothetical scenarios that didn't happen. That's just me.

Is this not what we have been doing for this whole 2-3 weeks when talking about LBJ???

I mean people are saying "he was on pace to Jordan's resume" If he stayed in Cleveland...

LBJ matching Jordan's resume in Clev is just as much as a "stretch" as in obtaining Magic's while in Mia...

                As for the ceiling...

In the modern NBA (Post Jordan) there havent been a player to "win on their own" who wasnt a big or the type of player Wade and LBJ are(a player who can compare to Jordan's skill set)...Which relates to this thread topic...

Jordan is the last to do it...And even he had Pippen...

Re: Exactly when has a player won a chip "on their own"?

Nobody has won a 7 game series all alone. Thats why its a team game.. anyone else that decides to criticize player A for not winning it by himself is only doing it to bash because of their agenda.

                      As I said:

It was a magazine cover nickname.
Posting magazine covers isn't helping your case. "King James" is an advertising nickname because it's easy.

I have never heard or seen somebody say "did you see King James' dunk yesterday?"

When somebody is talking about him, everyone I know says "Lebron" or "LBJ."

The whole "he needs a Robin" thing is bull****. Like Duncan told LeBron in 2007, "this is going to be your league very soon. But, thanks for letting me get another one." I guess LeBron didn't believe that he could take a team to the promised land "all alone." All he needed to do was impose his will on his opponents, while giving his all and the championships would've eventually come.

Of course, no one really wins "on their own." They've got 4 other guys on the court and 7 to 9 other guys on the roster to support and augment their abilities. Cleveland was built around LeBron and his freakish athleticism/skill. That team was built around defense-first and a offense that revolved around him being the primary decision-maker, scorer and distributor. Everything an elite athlete needs was given to him (including a state-of-the-art practice facility), yet he wanted more than Cleveland could currently provide.
SMH at the Nets actually wearing those jersey's in a Finals game...

Been a while I had actually forgotten.
