Hakeem in 1994 and Duncan in 2003 came close, but they also didn't face any great teams.

Hakeem missed Jordan's Bulls and Duncan got fat Shaq instead of most dominating player in the NBA Shaq.

With the Lakers, Celtics, and even the Magic, none of the one player teams are doing anything.

It's Wade's team because it was him team before the Super Friends connected, it will continue to be his team. That much doesn't change. If Magic had joined the Celtics, it would still have been Bird's team. If Olajuwon had joined the Bulls, it was still Jordan's team. The Heat is still D-Wade's team, and it will be until he leaves.

Yes, the Lakers are just as much Adam Morrison's team as it is Kobe's...

That's a ridiculous excuse. By the time the playoffs came Shaq was in shape and dominated in that series. Oh, and the third best player in the NBA (Kobe Bryant) was playing with Shaq that year.

That's all revisionist history. Jordan not playing and Shaq being "fat" has nothing to do with Duncan and Olajuwon having those incredible runs.

That makes no sense. Of course there was a team to go to, which was Wade's team, or else they would've gone somewhere else. But, they all decided to head to Wade's team not Cleveland or Toronto.

Doesn't matter if there was only Beasley and Chalmers on the team. Wade had actually accomplished something in Miami and was the "centerpiece" for this whole "Super Three" move.

You are making lame excuses..Lakers were the defending champs coming off a 3peat into 2003(Part of being a champ is being prepared for your defense and if u claim Shaq was fat, that is his fault not the spurs) and The Rockets had to go thru a suns squad that just went to the finals against MJ the previous year and the Spurs which had DRob coming off an MVP trophy. I don't think those guys had a cakewalk getting those chips.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

They didn't have a cakewalk, but they didn't have to play an "elite" team.

The great three-pete Lakers were the 5th seed in the West in 2003.

In the playoffs that year, Shaq was back in full effect. He averaged 27/15/4 in 40 minutes. That's dominant Shaq he got in those playoffs.

An "Elite" team. Just curious. what is your definition of an elite team Cebby? Should chips not count if they don't beat these Elite teams?

Do you have any recollection of how strong the West was at that point?

There's no "definition." I call them as I see them.

I've never been in favor of not counting chips.

I just keep perspective with chips. In 2010, it's much more difficult for a 1 man team than it was in 2003.

2001 AI and 2007 Lebron are the best examples of this. They reached the Finals by themselves, but if you put those teams in 2008-2010 they're not even reaching the ECF.

Got it Cebby...though I disagree about that 2001 team. They were a defensive juggernaut coached by LB with an unguardable player in A.I. at that time. I think they would have a shot to get out east.

For what it's worth, here are the instances that a team has won the NBA Finals and 1.) its best player had more than double the Playoff Win Shares (how many wins can be attributed to each player) of the next player and 2.) the second player had 2 or fewer win shares.

This smooths out instances where the #2 guy does OK but the #1 guy just outshines everyone, as well as big team efforts like the 2003-04 Pistons.

So I would say George Mikan and Rick Barry practically won championships "by themselves."

Wade had actually accomplished something in Miami and was the "centerpiece" for this whole "Super Three" move.
yes, because wade won that chip all alone...

If all 3 went to Clev, would it b LBJ's team? If they all went to Tor, would it be Bosh team?

                              Im lost...

IDK, this is OS, some people here says Bos is PP's team when they are clearly refered to as "The Big 3"

bottomline imo its not Wade featuring LBJ and Bosh, it more like how the Power Rangers combining to make Mega Zord, merging to make "Captain Planet"....Its Wu Tang on the track not Meth featuring raekwon...

Alonzo Mourning was the Miami Heat's 2nd best player during the NBA Finals. Wade put on a one man show the likes of which I've never seen outside of Jordan.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"
