Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan, Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill, Dwyane Wade, Vince Carter, Dwight Howard, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Steve Nash, Lamar Odom, I could go on with more, it's not as overwhelming as you're painting it to be. He didn't have to wear that number going into the pros considering all the hype that would come from it. High school I get that, since his entire senior year was an ESPN love affair, he knew what kind of hype was building around him.

Love how things always go to what the person in the discussion would do. Considering the family and household I was raised in, I can say with 1000% certainty that I wouldn't be booting my teammates families to the regular parking lot with the fans so my homies from school could get those reserved spots. I wouldn't demand my guys get jobs within the organization. Demanding help, sure I'd probably do that. But the point isn't whether I'd do that or not. The point is THAT is a perk of an alpha dog not someone who wants to be a role player.

For every person he named I can name someone who has whore #23, Im sure he wore the number because he's a fan just like everyone else who did so(All sports) Im pretty sure he didnt wear the number to mock MJ and say he's better than him...

Who wouldnt want the hype? If it wasnt for his hype dude wouldnt be making the money he is today...

LeBron was the Alpha male for 7 years in Cleveland...

How am I being naive because I dont agree with the "in" crowd???

LeBron went to the Heat to team up with Wade and Bosh, Call the cops...

Dude wasnt staying in Clevelan for a 3rd stint...If he would have said that during the season he would of got slammed

If he went to any of those teams beside the nets he would have gotten slammed, heck people would slam him for joining the nets...

Now all of something he's a person who created all of this in the age of media and the internet...LOL yeah ok...Name me one humble athlete in the age where u can get rich from playing a game...

Who said wearing it was to mock Jordan? Generally the players that wear 23 consider themselves great, superstar players and have the egos to match. Not saying it's all of them, but that's generally how it works.

The whole point is he embraced the hype of being an Alpha dog, he took the ball and ran with it. Now when people are criticising him based on something he's done in contradiction to what he played himself up as (whether he started it or not) people are making it out like he's just the innocent kid who had nothing to do with any of the reputation he has.

              Where is that rule?

And why are people writting him off a a alpha male when the season havent even started yet...Last time I check Wade hasnt done anything but put up numbers since 2006...He need LBJ more than LBJ needs him...

It isnt like dude left LA, we talking about freaking Cleveland...

If he went on TV and said "this is my team" he'd get slammed for that...

For real? He just wore 23 because he likes the number? He had no idea what images it might conjure up? 23's just his lucky number. Combined with all of the ****slobbing that went on before he came into the league he had NO IDEA that maybe choosing the number of the GOAT might raise some peoples' expectations of him?

So pretty much every cocky little douche in pretty much every state during the 90's didn't automatically grab number 23 every chance possible in an organized basketball game?

As for the rest of that...damn Juke, just damn.

                    1. Stop believing everything people tell you...

                    2. Obviously he's a fan of MJ...

What he going to say? "Im a pretty good basketball player, I shouldnt wear Jordan's number because It may cause some hype" LOL see how ridiculous that sounds?

The way you guys are putting it is he is saying he is Jordan or better than him by wearing dude's number...

I guess Q Rich and D Miles used to think that they where the next or better than MJ???

He doesn't HAVE to say anything. The fact that he made that choice might say something about where his head is at as it concerns his potential, the position he feels he might eventually attain in the league, etc.

But it's not ridiculous to say "I'm not gonna play in Chicago cause the shadow is too big" right? Is he someone who thinks of these things or not?

No because if he did anything less then what Jordan accomplished would be a failure...
