Devin, Favors, Picks and/or Cash for CP3/Okefor. And that's just one deal we could offer if we wanted to(which I don't BTW)and probably the best in terms of value the Hornets could get.

And your right, if LeBron doesn't end up with a title in his career, he'll definitely be crucified. And rightfully so. If he didn't put on the huge show that he put on earlier in the month then people would have sympathy for him if he didn't.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: Chris Paul wants out?
Paul doesn't want to leave New Orleans because of Lebron.
Paul wants to leave New Orleans isn't good, doesn't have up and coming talent, and has an owner who wants to cost cut.
Instead of mentioning any of that the author makes up Lebron and WWW conspiracy theories where Chris Paul is a pawn in some kind of bizarre conspiracy chess game.Comment

Re: Chris Paul wants out?
Doesn't change things enough IMO. I think there's been enough Knick bashing during the whole "Decision" thing but being honest, they have nothing to give. The fact that Curry is what they dangle for all these situations should tell you how bare the cupboard is. NO doesn't want Curry (they're trying to move Okafer) so what else they got? The only chance the knicks have is part of some 3 team deal that we couldn't even begin to dream of. Even then, I think it's a huge reach.
Now if Paul was in his last year and said he only wants to be a Knick, then they may have something to work with but that's not the case.
Cap relief and young, cheap, talent seems suitable for a team looking to rebuild.
Disclaimer: I'm not saying this will happen. Just one of the many possibilities out there.Comment

Re: Chris Paul wants out?
So LeBron has no influence on him?
These guys chill and train together. No doubt LeBron is telling him to GTFO of New Orleans.
Sick and tired of these guys be so vocal about them wanting out. At least do it privately and don't let it leak.
The NBA is becoming a joke. LeBron will probably go after Granger and Tyreke next.
EDIT: By going after I mean, LeBron will approach more and more players and tell them to leave if the situation is getting tough.Last edited by Vince; 07-23-2010, 04:07 PM.Comment

Cap relief - Blazers got expiring contracts
Young - Blazers got youth
Cheap - The price of Blazers youth is cheap
Talent - Batum, Bayless, LA are pretty young and talented

Re: Chris Paul wants out?
Yea I'd say that Portland should be the front runners for him. Only question to me would be would Andre get traded to relegated to the bench, but either way, you guys should have the best shot if things get to that point.Comment

Re: Chris Paul wants out?
Portland easily has the best pieces of any team.
Has to be a reason they have stockpiled on so much young talent at the same positions mind you.Comment

Re: Chris Paul wants out?
Batum, LA, Miller and picks is giving up wayyyyyyyyyy too much for someone who most likely will need Microfracture Knee Surgery in the future and will be playing bone on bone as well.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Chris Paul wants out?
And Cebby, only reason they are cutting cost is because of the god-awful moves Jeff Bower made as GM.
Despite everything, they have some decent pieces to work with like West, Collison, Thornton.
This is just to say that he could at least give the new GM and coach a chance.
Anyways, if he says he wants to stay, but WWW and Carter get involved, that'll be the end for them. They might as well just trade him now or it'll be a repeat of LeBron with the Cavs.Comment

Re: Chris Paul wants out?
I don't know about that. Okafer is under contract until like the 2014 season making $11m+ in each of those seasons, Curry's $11m plus Peja's $15m will instantly give them $25m in cap space next year. That's something that a rebuilding team covets, cap space. Throw in Wilson Chandler and Douglas and they get depth on their team from the 1 to the 3 spot. And assuming that they'd also ask for a Gallo or Randolph they'd probably get one of those guys, depending on where we are in this whole process.
So LeBron has no influence on him?
Lebron may have a slight influence on Paul as a friend, but Paul definitely isn't Lebron's pawn.
Plus, why would Lebron want Paul on a great team?Comment

Marcus Thornton and Darren Collison aren't up and coming talent? Quincy Pondexter and Craig Brackins aren't up and coming talent? (I can almost hear the "Who?" now)
The Hornets are poised to transfer ownership to a billionare who doesn't need to make a dime from the Hornets.
None of those things will apply to us very soon.
And don't think for a second that LeBron has absolutely nothing to do with this. Don't think that Chris Paul doesn't see the situation LeBron's coasted his way into and isn't envious. LeBron, CP3, Wade, Bosh, Melo...all those dudes are tight. Hell, CP3's got the same friggin' agent as LeBron now.
And you expect me to think LeBron's not a factor? C'mon na.Comment
