I was all for this new technical enforcement until I saw it in action. Now I think it's right up there with the NHL's trapezoid on the list of worst pro sports rules currently in effect.

Don't forget the NFL's "defenseless receiver" rule.Comment

I actually have no problem with that one. At some point they're going to have to figure out a way to stop giving their labor force brain damage, so they might as well start there.Impact de Montréal

Re: NBA To Impose New Guidelines For Technicals
I do see way less complaining, or you'll see a teammate try to calm them down immediately. The enforcement during the preseason really has them aware of what is and isnt a tech.
I saw Rudy Gay about to do the run the other direction with the ball after a foul call after about 2 steps he just tried to stand in place....it was too late tho, they had already rung him up.
Its definitely on their mindsEricmaynor3.com

Re: NBA To Impose New Guidelines For Technicals
I still think it's BS, CP3 pretty much broke James Jones ankles last night appears to have gotten an and one late in the game but they call him for charging. He does a motion with his arm and I think said come on so he then get's T'd up which could have been a huge factor in the game.
Emotion is apart of every game get over it NBA, there is no need to give someone a T just for a simple reaction. Just do like the NFL does when they let them react but when they start to go overboard call it.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: NBA To Impose New Guidelines For Technicals
Telling you, they need to get together and force a forfeit in protest. Flat out F-bomb the refs after every call until there are only five players on each team, then do nothing but curse and scream at the refs for the remaining forty minutes of the game. They'll rescind that nonsense real quick. Can't let Stern think this is a dictatorship.Comment

That is a great idea. It is getting beyond ridiculous now.Telling you, they need to get together and force a forfeit in protest. They'll rescind that nonsense real quick. Can't let Stern think this is a dictatorship.
Last night, Stephen Jackson was getting pummeled every time he drove to the basket. But, no whistle. Jackson starting getting a little animated after about the 5th time getting hit, and he got a "T" immediately. I felt like turning the game off.Comment

I'd have NO problem with the ANY player if they did this. Hell, I HOPE they do this.Telling you, they need to get together and force a forfeit in protest. Re: NBA To Impose New Guidelines For Technicals
okay... not gonna lie... I thought this rule was a cruel joke played out by David Stern to save the asses of his incompetent refs before preseason...
now... I am definitely enjoying watching the games without every player, especially the stars throwing their hands up complaining on every possession. The focus is back on the court where it needs to be. I'm not admitting that this is a perfect plan, as I've seen some players simply get angry at themselves in frustration and get T'd up... but overall, the stale parts of the game formerly, like the excessive whining and bitching is now kept to an all-time low, and it's way more appealing to me.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

grownup men should act like this, why?Telling you, they need to get together and force a forfeit in protest. Re: NBA To Impose New Guidelines For Technicals
Don't make the mistake of coloring this as a maturity issue. I'm talking about an organized, but demonstrative peaceful protest illustrating the difference between infractions and acceptable behavior.
This is a gestapo move by Stern. In no job should it be acceptable to levy fines according to new and extreme behavior modification policies without the consent of the employees. The nature of this protest would force league authorities to measure a compromise between their desires to regulate a product and their desires to have a product.
Peaceful but descriptive protests are a part of the long tradition of free, grownup men.Comment

Re: NBA To Impose New Guidelines For Technicals
The NBA Players are grown men being paid more money in a seaon than the vast majority of the population will ever make in their life times to play a game, the public at-large would not be on their side if they decided to throw a collective temper tantrum. It would be a disastrous decision. As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: NBA To Impose New Guidelines For Technicals
Stephen Jackson has been suspended for one game for "Ref Abuse."
I swear I think Jackson is the new Iverson in many ref's eyes. He got T'd up twice in that game in like five seconds.
