    "I Could Score 100."

Michael Jordan says he could score 100 points in a game in today's NBA.

Interested in seeing if anyone agrees (I think if he and his team set out for him to do it, he could)

I agree. Michael Jordan never played in an NBA where there was no hand checking or defensive 3 second rule. I think he could go off for 100 in a game and I also think he could have averaged over 50 ppg for a season.

Never saw a zone defense either....one could just as easily say Lebron could score 100 in MJ's heyday because defenders couldn't sag the lane.

I could see two legitimate and compelling arguments made for both sides. While the NBA is a lot softer than it once was (and defenses were much better in Jordan's era) the addition of zone defense has changed the way players dominate the lane.

Thats not true at all. You could triple team players and the way you could lag off of your man to rotate over were effectively zone defenses.

You make it sound like Jordan couldn't score if he couldn't get to the basket. Dude had a lights out jump shot from 18 feet. and after he knocked down a few jumpers and made his man come out on him, he'd go by him, and with today's officiating, get to the foul line 30 times a game. No one would be able to keep him out of the lane, regardless of who's waiting on him. Not without being able to handcheck.

Imagine if Jordan never got handchecked by the "Bad Boys" Piston Teams, or any team for that matter. Who could stay in front of him today when he was in his prime without being able to handcheck? Not to mention the weak touch fouls that are called today. I have no doubt in my mind he would have scored 100, probably on multiple occasions if he were playing now.

I don't think he would do it multiple times, unless he was just going out to prove a point. Like, that's the thing. I think the only way he would ever go for 100 is if someone told him he couldn't do it. It would take a whole team effort for Jordan (or anyone) to get 100 points. Teammates would have to be willing to sacrifice their numbs for his.

In his prime with today's rules, or today with today's rules? Two different answers.

First, it's not like current players don't do the same thing against some of the defenses they see. That video showed me that MJ was great and could score against the double team, which we already knew, but didn't showcase any the defenses of today that include man to man defenses that converge into 2 and 3 man front zones that the Celtics use or various other options in a zone/man switch MID-play.

I can recall an article in which MJ himself said that he would have a hard time putting up 30 with the defensive principles of Larry Brown and the Bobcats.

Would MJ score alot of points? No doubt. But scoring 100 is big, big figure of speech.

Of course. Because of the rules changes, today's NBA favors wing players. Not just Jordan - can you imagine what Dr. J, George Gervin, Bernard King and David Thompson would do if they were in their prime now?

bull ****, I don't think anybody could score 100 points ever again. That was wilt being heads and heels overly superior then every other player he played against in every facet imaginable.

Mj couldn't do it, lebron won't nobody will
