If the Lakers were to take over first place in the West would Kobe's name be in the MVP discussion. I'm talking, top 3 in the voting.

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
I think he would. Not saying he SHOULD, but I think he would for the simple fact that they will look at the Lakers since the all star break. My problem with Kobe being in the MVP discussion is that the Lakers' run is directly related to Andrew Bynum. It may not show up in the box scores, but his presence has made the Lakers go.Comment

The Bulls have always been in discussion this season.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Let's not even have this discussion dude. Yes people have been talking about the Bulls, but they have not been pumping up the Bulls all year long. They were an afterthought when mentioned. It was Heat, Lakers, Celtics, Spurs yadda yadda 'oh and yeah the Bulls look pretty solid.' The only time the Bulls got talked about was if they played the Heat, Thunder or Celtics on an ESPN game otherwise they were brought up in the middle of Sportscenter and talked about for 30 to 40 seconds. So let's not even try to debate this.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Now the only media personality that was hyping the Bulls up back in early December was Charles Barkley. And even he said that the Bulls won't have the best record in the East BUT he thought that they had the best chance at going to the Finals.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

The Bulls were being discussed, whether as a good team or a Finals team is on you to juggle. But are plenty of NBA critics outside of Sportscenter and TNT. Those two networks dont make the entire sportsworld.
I wasnt talking about bandwagon jumpers either.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Chicago Bulls
With center Joakim Noah out with a thumb injury and power forward Carlos Boozer struggling through an ankle sprain, leading MVP-candidate Derrick Rose has kept the Bulls competitive by taking over games with regularity. Rose has been stupendous in the month of January, averaging 26 points and 7 assists while leading Chi town to a 10-4 record. Watching the point guard exercise his confident open court stride, gorgeous crossover and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon hops, it becomes clear that the Bulls will have a chance to beat anybody come spring time with the ball in Rose’s hands. Thouh the hometown hero receives the bulk of the press, forward Luol Deng has been integral to the success of Coach Tom Thibodeau’s squad. Thibodeau’s effective defensive system (Chicago is ranked third in the league in points allowed per game) is motorized by Deng’s ability to lock the opponent’s top perimeter scorer in the basement and his 17 points per game have been a helpful compliment to Rose’s offense.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Oh wow, that random one quote from an unnamed source has certainly shut my mouth. Give me a break dude. In the context of the discussion that you're trying to bring up 'the media' talking about the Bulls as in, slobbing all over them, the national media was not on the Bulls until at the earliest when they beat the Heat in Miami or even when they beat the Heat in Chicago coming out of the All-Star break. Either way it wasn't before the break.
Even if that one, lone paragraph is a legit thing to use, exactly what about that write up works towards the negative vibe that some of you guys are trying to paint Rose and the Bulls as being media darlings all year as? That's a typical write up that you can find on pretty much any team in contention this year. Get outta here with that mess man.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
I didn't say the Bulls bandwagon is like 2 weeks old and obviously Po Pimp, who said it was exaggerating when he said it. Again though, you're too busy trying to troll someone to actually take into context an entire post before you respond...four days after he made the comment mind you. And it's critiquing in a vacuum cause Barkley was talking about the Bulls back in December and people were calling him crazy. But hey lets take ONE of his comments from then and use it as a reflection of the entire national media pumping the Bulls all year. Meanwhile you're lecturing me that ESPN and TNT don't make up all of the media to be able to use all the guys and comments on they're family of networks to make my point. Whatever.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Has the National Media been pumping up the Bulls like the Lakers/Heat/Celtics of the world ALL year long? No.
But let's not use "Oh well, they only started talking about us AFTER/AROUND the ASB" or even started mentioning them around that time because that's far from true.
So in a way, Batmon does have a point because this ain't somethin' that just started happening in the last month or whatever.#RespectTheCultureComment
