I'm all about doing screens/back doors in pick up games which all good but it gets annoying when group players start calling plays like we're in a league or something.

I remember playing these guys who probably played HS ball together calling condiments like Relish and Ketchup, haha. I think they even ran a stack play!

I dunno maybe I just don't take as serious as some folks as it just a pick up game at my gym.

also, that guy tends to be the guy who is open in the paint but can't catch or finish.

I'm surprised you didn't have a laundry list to add with some of the games we've played, lol.

I'm late so most has been covered now but I've got one I haven't seen yet. I hate guys that run away from picks. If you have the ball and don't want a pick, you can call it off (but not talking so much about on the ball picks... ball shouldn't be still long enough for that really in pick up) but guys run away from you like you're on defense.

NOTE to the people that don't set off ball screens: They're the easiest way for you to get open. If you set a down screen for someone on the block, you should be able to easily turn and seal. If you set a screen for someone on the wing, the D usually drops leaving you open for a shot.

In an unrelated note, at that same park, I capped off a game one night with a breakaway flush, which yielded this response from the sideline: "Who said white men can't jump? Just look at Yao Ming!"

Let that one sink in for a while.

That's seems to be always the case. I don't mind jerseys but those guys that come to courts geared to the neck are the ones I target immediately. The gear that is most important to me is both of my calf sleeves and my shoes.

I rocked my #22 Bulls Jason Williams jersey today..its mad comfortable...

People had no idea who it was though, kept asking me if it was custom... lol

Yeah like Threes said, that was kind of the point. I spent days trying to deconstruct that line. No luck. It reminded me of the time Lewis Black heard a passerby say offhand, "If it wasn't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college."

Don't know if this was mentioned but the guy who's pissed because he's getting beat on Defense gets upset and wants to start hard fouling folks who go past him with no problem. Ran into one this weekend and was even the recipient of a few and all I could do was just SMH and LOL at the sametime to which afterwards I had to hit him with one of these:

This is what I'm always saying. Girls ruin pick-up basketball games because her match-up is a guy either not even trying or going too hard on her. If a girl plays there has to be another girl to guard her.

Or maybe just play D like you would against anyone else, lol. If she's trying to play with the boys then either she's got the game to do it or she'll realize it soon. I'd much rather play with a girl than most black top ballers... don't know anything about fundamentals; think they're much better than they really are; think wrapping their arms around you is good D; etc, etc. If a girl steps up, she probably has some skill. And you can be sure she's not going to take it easy on you.

I can understand worrying about boxing out too hard or something like that, but if you normally are THAT aggressive then you're not really playing good ball anyway. If a girl is posting you up without the body to do it, she should learn that she shouldn't be posting you up just like anyone else would.
