LOL, I dunno, I should probably say "in shape" or "thin". My playing weight was 220 and I wore 2XL then. I did not have my beer/scotch/pizza gut then though.

Most of the shorts that I play in now are team-issued/game-worn stuff so they're plenty big. Size 48 +2" from Nike college shorts. NBA stuff in 4XL +2.

6'7" and 6'8", I call dibs on you two when we have an OS pickup game lol.

How did those 4XL's feel? And look?

I love them, got the Knicks current style in home and away. They were relatively cheap on eBay, one was $70 and one was $85 I think. Considering the NBA sells non-game worn shorts for $150 retail it's not a bad price. Think the home whites were Amare and the road blues were Kenyon Martin's.

The Rev30 stuff from Adidas is really good material. Nice and thick like Nike stuff back in the day, not the paper thin bathing suite-like material that Nike has used the last five years or so. The Rev30's also have the thick waistband with the rubber anti-slip guard on the inside too. Very nice stuff.

I bet since Nike is taking over the NBA contract there will be some really good deals on stuff on Rev30 shorts on eBay in the future.

6'7"? Man, must be rough. It'd be cool to drive to the basket in pickup games and be able to finish over top of guys. Seems all that I'm able to do is play the Harden game; jumpers and fouls lol

Man I'm 5'10" and 240, built like a fullback. I was 180 lbs 10 years ago when I played bball in high school...nowadays I have to either shoot NBA or beyond 3s (which is all I've practiced for the last 5 years) or barrel through people which I started shying away from cause people kept bitching I was offensive fouling into them. It was actually in a local city league two years ago, I got called for 3 offensive fouls cause I had a 170 lb dude flopping on me. So the next game I actually made 6 threes in the first half and then tore my meniscus in the second half but we only had 6 players so I had to stay in cause one dude fouled out..lol I literally couldn't move so I stayed on one side of the court and I think we ended up losing. Haven't played competitively since. Good times.

I probably dunk once or twice a winter now and I play in five different leagues, my athletic days are behind me.

I'm basically Arvydas Sabonis at the end of his career lol. Do nothing but shoot over the top of people while barely jumping, float around on the perimeter often, pass-first mentality most of the time, only post up if I have a mouse in the house and don't run down the court on offense every 5th possession so I can catch my breath/take a rest. I need to transition to a 35 & over league lol.

I can't stand it when people see you playing 5 on 5 and they come into the gym with a soccer ball kicking it around and then getting in the way. I have no problem running them over...

She's a decent ball player.

But I hate having to be matched up with her. I'd rather have to guard the best player on the other team and get ate up than having to guard her.

Its just TOO uncomfortable. You are a jerk if you play her all tough (had changed from 'hard' since I know how you all think round here. Smh) and bully her offensively or defensively. So you dont. But then you are a jerk for taking it easy on a girl.

After you win, one of your five leaves. Then she asks you if you need one. You know you do but dont want her. But you dont want to be a jerk since she was the first to ask.

So you say "yea". Now she's on your team you feel like a jerk not giving her the ball. But you do anyway because you dont want to be a jerk. But the guy guarding her is being a jerk for playing her all tough taking advantage of her on offense and defense so she's bringing your team down.

And now I'm a jerk for being sexist when I play ball. Smh.

....oh. And I absolutely HATE it when they do the "girlfriend/flirty post up" move. Like, do you really think your 5'4, 120 pound self can back me down and be effective? All you are doing is making me hella uncomfortable because I dont know what to do with my hands or pelvis to be able to play respectable defense but at the same time not look like a little perv while you are "working me" in the post.

I hate when that short, fat, non athletic guy comes running from behind trying to block your shot, but ends up hurting you in the process. I'm like 6'5 and he's 5'7. He is not reaching that ball. What makes it so funny is that he says, "I was just trying to make a play on the ball."

I also hate when a person goes 4 for 20, but blames you for the loss when you only took 1 or 2 shots and played great defense.

So I'm working the bars...and I see this guy who I think belongs in this thread...

He's 7-8 and looks halfway athletic and I can't find him on google anywhere. He must be the worst pickup player on the planet. You're 7-8 you should be able to play basketball. I know it's a stereo type and maybe you hate basketball but it still is just in your genetics lol

He is 100% 7'8" and looks about 22-25. Possible euro guy. I didn't go near him bc at 6'3 I felt like a child just looking at him.

I get a little bitter when I see guys with height and length that are not very good. I am 5'10" 160 and every time I see a 6'3" guy with less skill than me all I think is the damage I could do. I would not want to be any taller than 6'3" though, I like my quickness. But it would be nice to finish at the rim doing something other than a floater or some crazy circus shot.

I need to get back in shape, have not played in a couple of years actually. Might find a place with a bunch of unathletic middle aged guys to build myself back up lol.

There was a guy at the courts tonight wearing a "Haters are my motivators" tank top. He was awful... but perhaps I'm just hating.

Also, the body odor guy reemerged this evening, the one whose armpit I accidentally stuck my hand in while closing out a few years ago. He was goofing around before a game and bear hugged two players at one time. I did not envy their position.
