        No idea.

I think the NFL does something like this when it comes to who gets to officiate playoff games and the Super Bowl, but I don't think the NBA does it. Especially when you have so many of the same refs we've been seeing for years (Violet Palmer, Joey Crawford, etc).

I doubt they will improve it, because they see nothing wrong with it. I can't count the amount of times I have heard Stern say, "We have excellent officials and they do a tremendous job, blah, blah, blah." Just like the alcoholic who will never get better until he admits he has a problem.

They aren't serious about it, and the Army General thing is proof of that.

Well I know they do vote the "best" refs into the playoffs...I know that for a fact...

Im just not sure if its the coaches that do it...but I thought I remembered JVG saying so during a game...

Not saying it works....b/c the "best" refs are still terrible...just pointing out that somehing like that is in place...

Thats the part that is what causes uproar... they wont ever allow an independant source to obtain and study data like that, I believe Penn tried to do it a few years ago but David Stern refused to co-operate

no, all sports have officiating problems. it's the nature of having three people oversee ten world-class athletes moving at incredible speed in a confined area.

Of course all sports have officiating issues. There's never going to be a league that gets every call correct and doesn't **** up in some way, but when you look at a league like MLB they at least keep their mistakes to a minimum (from an outsider's view that is since I don't watch much baseball).

It has nothing to do with mistakes as it is correcting the wrongs

That statement is used as if there is no room for improvement which it clearly is, and not only that, nothing is done about it

An army general here, telling a team you were right there, doesn't fix the issue.

Its a shame that this has to come up all of the time and it has absolutely nothing to do with conspiracy theories. Stevie Wonder can see whats happening.. its more like the NBEA now more than the NBA
