Is it? When 9 out of 10 times that is what the opposing defenses prepare for.

I'm not saying there is a problem or a big deal but you have Wade just watching that play where the turnover occurs. Would you rather have LBJ attack the rim against 3 defenders or attack, have the defense collapse and get the ball to a moving Wade?

What's the problem? Once he planted his feet in the paint he kept his left foot planted till he went up for the actual shot.

i think whats throwing people off is that he stopped in mid drive and then went again. If he was to do this motion in one movement, it still would not have been a travel.

it would have been one heck of an athletic move ....aka D.ROSE type of layup, but never the less, not a travel.

This is a very subjective call. You could say he was jump stoping. But it could have easily gone either way. That is why I say the ref put the whistles in their pockets in those late game situations. I've been seeing alot during these playoffs. Anything that is a ticky tacky call the refs won't call it.

edit: Basically letting them play and only calling something obvious.

The refs were giving him the benefit of the doubt on a jump stop... technically his feet should come down at the same time (or at least somewhere close to the same time) but NBA players get away with that all the time. The problem with THIS one is if you watch when he picks the ball up he took a full step with his left foot before doing the "jump stop" which means he should've been called for a travel when he decided not to shoot right there. He took a pivot AFTER that. Definitely a travel.

As for the 3 he made and shot tipped in by Bosh, it's just bad decision making at that time with the options available. It doesn't mean he sucks or isn't clutch or anything like that, but it's why I believe the ball should be in Wade's hands in those situations. At this point, as good as LBJ may be, I think he's better suited to catch, read the D and react immediately. Run him off a screen or 3 while Wade is penetrating. He'd be going up for closer jumpers that are less contested or have one step to the rim... and that's if Wade can't get to the rim on his own. KG will take LBJ firing up that shot 10 out of 10 times. And if the thought was Bosh can outrebound Allen, then that's a bad decision too bc you can't determine where a rebound will go. If anything, take a couple of dribbles and then get the ball into Bosh right under the basket with a guy half his size on him.

You can't pivot on the last step you take after a 1-2-3 continuation.

This shouldn't even be a discussion man - if this were the streets we'd be going the other way with everyone saying, "Get outta here with that man!"

But it's the NBA - and par for the course with this dude.

if I watch the playback on NBA TV today im sure I could find 3-4 instances where a Celtic traveled and it wasnt called...
