Yeah but he's a 30 or 30-something year old guy that's coming off a knee injury and isn't really some athletic freak like Amar'e is. Add to the fact that he still expects to be getting paid well (which means he'll probably get overpaid) and I don't think it would be a good signing at all.

Hornets actually only have 5 players under contract: CP3, Ariza, Jack, Pondexter and Okafor. Crazy.

      Laker news:

Also, the Lakers probably will announce this week they have hired assistant coaches John Kuester, Chuck Person and Quin Snyder, according to an NBA executive not authorized to speak publicly on the subject.
They still have Emeka don't they?

In other news; I really wish the Cavs would do SOMETHING with the trade exception they have. I'm not sure when it expires, but once the lockout starts I'm sure it'll expire before a new CBA is negotiated so it'll just go to waste.

MASSIVE risk by West.............does he think people didn't see the injury happen? I saw that game and almost threw up my dinner. That was a bad, bad injury.

He wants $50 million + and he won't be able to pass a physical...and he won't be able to play for half of next season (if there is one).

Unless some team has promised his agent a deal (likely?), seems a strange move for a guy coming back off a shocking knee injury.

Also to throw this out there, West said he's open to re-signing with NO.

The thing is I doubt that because if he re-signs with NO, aren't the chances of him getting less than he was already making pretty high when you factor in the probable/possible lockout?

I heard the qualifying offer that the LA Clippers made to DeAndre Jordan was only like $1M and change.

If this is true, come on Knicks...Day 1 of Free Agency...make a damn offer.

Cheap owners in LA being true to form.

Chris Jent has left the Cavaliers to become a coach at Ohio State...which totally sucks, since Jent was one of the best shooting coaches in the NBA. LeBron should send him a thank you note everytime one of his jumpers goes in.

Also, the Cavaliers apparently will not be using their TPE.

LoL the Clippers are silly. Lets talk about trading Kaman and then not bother aggressively making sure we have his replacement locked up.

Nothing new there. Sterling's just an amazing guy.

TPE is worthless anyway. It's like fake money.

From what I've heard/read regarding West is that Indiana will be making a strong push for him.

Is JR Smith getting ready for his Chicago return?

                    Oh my...

Also NY making a run at Kurt Thomas.

According to a team source, the Knicks intend to make a run at reacquiring Thomas this summer, or whenever the expected NBA lockout ends. The veteran power forward is a free agent who spent last season with the Chicago Bulls and has made it clear that he wants to play at least one more season.

Thomas will likely decide between the Knicks and Bulls, although he remains hopeful that his hometown Dallas Mavericks will reach out to him as well. Thomas attended all three NBA Finals games in Dallas.
I hope he comes back for one more season in Chicago.

                      Also, the NJ Nets.

Imagine that...if West is anything healthy. Going from CP3 to DWill passing you the ball.

I'm as shocked as anybody West opted out. If I'm a GM I can't see giving West more than 7.5mil especially in the wake of a new CBA that will be more restrictive.

I just think if/when David is healthy his production won't be an issue.

Right, West definitely couldn't have opted out in the hopes of -more- money. Coming off an injury like that over 30 is never bueno.

Production wise I'm not sure what happens. I don't know what's scarier imagining what his numbers will be without CP3 tossing it around, or what his numbers will be after the injury. Maybe it doesn't affect him, like you said he's not reliant on his legs... but still...

D'Antoni knows how important Kurt Thomas can be to his teams.

Wish our management felt the same way before trading him and two first round picks just to get rid of some money.

What are some realistic moves for the Charlotte Bobcats to make during the Free Agency period? Being they are definitely in a rebuilding mode by trading there two best players over the last year, and drafting quality picks.

Any ideas on moves that would be most efficient for the Bobcats?
The way to build a good team is not to load it with star players, but to load it with players who play well together with an identity

Young players, no one really, maybe a 3rd string point guard, and a center like Gray.
