Re: NBA Off-season Movement & FA List (PG 1 Updated 6/29)

I think Tayshaun to the Nets would be a good move, not just because I don't want him back in Detroit, (he's better than anything else we have), but he could work really well with Deron and is a great fast break finisher if they choose to go that route, and still a top perimeter defender. His attitude totally soured last season after being the most quiet Piston for years. Even though JoeD has supposedly expressed interest in re-signing him, I figure it's just lip service.

Also, ex carrabba I really thought JoeD had made a good move getting Ben and Charlie, all under the assumption that Rip would be moved. They were the top 2 FAs of that class and we didn't have a shot at any of the big names the next year. Well CV chose not to make a more concerted effort defensively (shocker) and Rip got hurt. The whole thing got ugly and we may be digging out of this mess for a few years, but at least we have a couple building blocks in Knight and Monroe (and maybe Stuckey, who knows).

I think his beef with those moves were the amount of $$$ that were paid to them, especially to a one Mr. Benjamin Gordon.

I'm not a Nets fan, but if I were, I feel like I'd rather go after someone like Aron Afflalo and then a PF with whatever money they have left than breaking the bank on West/Nene/Maybe Hump depending on how much he wants.

In next year's draft, is it deeper with SGs or SFs? I can't remember, but if the draft is very strong with SGs, I'd go after a SF, and vice versa if the draft is very strong with SFs.

Edit: Just read this on ESPN True Hoop:
At a Bobcats fantasy camp, 48-year old Michael Jordan dunked a basketball. Let the comeback rumors begin.

I can't watch the video yet, but that's pretty impressive that he can still dunk and he's almost 50.

Definitely would never hate on the GOAT but he is 6'6" and was a world class athlete. I'd have to see the video to see what "with ease" really means, but I'm not really shocked he can still dunk.

He did it with ease, but didn't look comfrontable doing so.

That's what I'm thinking, if you're 6'6 and have hooped even at even a collegiate level, I think it wouldn't be that hard to dunk with ease-- even at that age. But then again I'm not 6'6' and I'm half that age, and haven't hooped past high school so who knows.

Jordan and Prokhorov are the only two owners that can dunk I think.

Thanks for the link, I checked it out in the other thread too. Honestly, that looks about right to me. Gotta remember, he's not too much over his playing weight so he doesn't have the extra pounds holding him down, and he's 6'6". He does that approaching 60 and then I'd say it's impressive (and it's still impressive to some extent, but not really that impressive for a former professional baller imo).

So I guess the Nets and Bobcats are the only teams with no set National television appearances.

                      Knicks apparently have the most.

"The Knicks are going to be on TV a whopping 29 times next year, which ties them for second with Chicago, behind Boston and Dallas (who are on national TV 30 times) overall. This means New York, which was just a game over .500 in last year's regular season before being swept out of the first round, will be on national TV one more time than those ratings hounds in Miami and Los Angeles."

The Bobcats need to change their name first of all

As far as MJ, he looks just like MJ.. shoot there was no struggle there just a straight up dunk

He's still got it. I wonder if he still plays pickup at all of if it's only golf these days?

I'm surprised Miami aren't on national tv the most. You'd think even the Haters would be tuning in which would guarantee big ratings.

Regardless of whether James Jones re-signs (and there’s mutual interest), we hear forward Shane Battier will be very much on the Heat’s radar after the lockout. The Houston Chronicle, after interviewing Battier, said “don’t be surprised” if he signs with the Heat or Bulls.

Battier would be a nice piece, but not exactly what the Bulls really need.
