When you're off duty you can wear whatever you want, lol.

I'm not making a huge deal of this...just for discussion.

This is not a pic of Serge Ibaka rocking a Mavs hat. This is the franchise player.

Now I'm sure KD didn't give 2 wiffs about it and just threw on his fave hat.

    But damn..
I'm sure he has pride in wearing his team gear but that doesn't mean he has to 24/7. Not everybody wears team hats to support the team. Some just like the hat. This is stuff fans get in a huff about.

No doubt. But for star players the spot light is anywhere they are.

As I said, it's not a big deal but as a fan I wouldn't want Rose rocking a Knicks or Heat cap.

Even you PP, I'm sure if Rodgers wore a Bears jersey you wouldn't be like oh well.

Even there though, this isn't a Packer wearing a Bears jersey (and people don't casually wear football jerseys like they do basketball hats). This isn't even a Bull wearing a Knick or Heat hat (rival teams that are at least in the same conference). There is no connection between OKC and CHI at all... besides both being NBA teams.

The bottom line is he is representing another team. That's it. Doesn't matter if is the Bulls, Lakers or even the lowly Cavs. It is what it is.

            Spoiler

On a more serious note, I'd be a little upset about my teams franchise player wearing another teams hat, but it wouldn't make me super mad or anything (especially if we just locked him up for 5 years or however long his extension was)

It's sad that we have to be this paranoid these days, I've seen AI with plenty of NBA hats back in his day...

I see where both sides are on the wearing other team's gear issue. I think both sides are right in a way.

I think we've all seen LeBron wear a Yankee cap. So does that mean we should expect LeBron to be playing Right Field for the Bronx Bombers next season?

No, but sources say he's choosing the Knicks during the "the Decision" though.

                          Different sport...who cares.

Picture Deron Williams with a Knicks cap. Dwight Howard with a Lakers hat. Kobe with a Clippers hat.

                          People would react.

Iverson wore a Bill Russell jersey to a Sixers press conference before. To be honest when throwback jerseys were in style, I wouldn't be surprised to hear of more guys that did something similar to what Iverson. I just can't remember any other examples.

Perhaps...since Durant is around most of our ages, his favorite team as a kid was the Bulls. Just because you make it to the league doesn't mean you drop your lifelong favorite team.

I don`t see a problem with it at all. These players get paid to play basketball that`s it nothing more. All is expected of them is for them to play to the best of their abilities nothing else. Off the court they don`t owe the city or nobody nothing and can do whatever they like.

Sometimes it seems like people forget that these are humans too, regardless of how much money they make. They are not a possession of the team and the fans.
