I think Steve Nash can still run an offense better than Chris Paul personally, but Paul's defense is much much much better than Nash's, but I really think Nash is still the best offensive PG in the league.

Re: Top-10 Players in the NBA
Well, the hate rant Stephen A and Skip (more Stephen A which really surprises me) are taking off on is getting pitiful. Here's their Top 5 right now. Take into account that they drill Lebron for not winning a ring or being clutch but Carmelo and KD made their lists. Carmelo can barely make it out of the first round....

Re: Top-10 Players in the NBA
Dirk was one only of 5 players in NBA playoff history going into this post season to avg 25 ppg and 10 rebounds during his playoff career
yet your taking one series vs Golden St and making it appear as if he's struggled his entire post season
Those 1st round defeats to San Antonio and New Orleans had nothing to do with Dirk as he put up incredible numbers better than the numbers of Tim Duncan and David West his counter parts at PF during those series
How quickly we forget that his playoff run in 2006 was just as dominant as this past year the only thing is he didn't get a ring that year.
He literally destroyed San Antonio in one the greatest playoff series in NBA History and how quickly you forget it was Dirk who took over that game on the road in game 7 down the stretch
How quickly you forget it was Dirk who dropped fifty on the Suns in that same post season
The man is 4-0 in game 7's in his playoff career.....but you probably already knew that right?
To try and hold him hostage for the Golden St series over his entire playoff career is just ignorant....
The man has 2 NBA Finals appearances and 3 WCF's appearances can you name another Elite player on that list you posted that has done more than Dirk in the post season?
The only person listed is Kobe and yet your calling Dirk overated the man has ring now + one MVP trophy in his legacy things you'll never be able to take away from him
So overate that my friendLast edited by Playmakers; 10-21-2011, 12:52 PM.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Re: Top-10 Players in the NBA
McGrady was consistently mentioned in the top 5 ( with Duncan, O'Neal, Bryant and Garnett) in his prime. The "lovefest" is valid because Durant is not only a scorer, but he is an above average defender (especially help side) and great rebounder at his position. He's also already led his team to the western conference finals in his 3rd year.
My (revised) top 10:
1. LeBron
2. Dwight
3. Wade
4. Dirk
5. Durant
6. Kobe
7. Rose
8. Paul
9. Randolph
10. Anthony
Sent from Bills Backer Clubhouse
Now you guys are trippin...
You want to cal him a great scorer fine....but come on don't insult my intelligence saying Durant is a good defender
If that's the case Shawn Marion must still be an All-Star because he lit Durant up like a X-Mas tree in that WCF's
I'm also not buying the theory he's a good rebounder base don what numbers?
It's not like he's up their with some of the best rebounding SF's in NBA History.
he's a scorer and volume shooter at that nothing more and nothing less....and i don't expect him to do anything else
Like i said he's a George Gervin clone who has been hyped up by the media to be the next great one....
If Memphis had any players with high basketball IQ he would have never got out of the 2nd round...and i really don't expect OKC to get back to the WCF unless they obtain some smarter players who understand when your up by 8 points with 1:00 left in games you don't continue to hunt for shots and jack up 3's as if it's the 1st qtrNCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Re: Top-10 Players in the NBA
i actually agree with loud mouth Smith for once
I don't agree that Durant is better than LeBron....
He basically said what i've been saying about Durant in this thread he's just a scorer (a very good one). But LeBron is a more complete player with 2 NBA Finals appearances and probably a few more coming.
I like his list but i would switch D-Howard to #1....if that guy had any help he'd have a ring already....he's kinda like Dirk a one man wrecking crew and just carries his team by himself
I think franchise players who can carry a team by themselves should more credit than those who are playing with other Supet Stars/All-Stars to help shoulder the load night in and night out
Guys like Howard and Dirk don't have the luxury to have 1-2 bad games come playoff time because their teams are filled with role players
Those are things people tend to overlook when evaluating these players
How many of them can you say for sure can carry a team on their backs without a 2nd fiddle to shoulder the load?
How many of them can get to the Finals without a 2nd Super Star or All-Star by his side?NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Re: Top-10 Players in the NBA
Their was only one guy in the current NBA that could lead his team to the Finals without another superstar. His name? Lebron James. When you look back through the history books, he's the ONLY one who has accomplished that in a LONG TIME!#WashedGamerComment

Care to tell us who was the other Superstar on the Mavs this past year?"This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. Some won't get it and for that i won't apologize"- Talib KweliComment

Re: Top-10 Players in the NBA
I know in the case of Dirk he's done it twice now in 5 years
the Mavs had 0 All-Stars or Super Stars on either one of those Finals teams...
in fact the only All-Star players Dirk has played with recently was Josh Howard only because someone got hurt and jason Kidd again placed in the game because someone got hurt.
IMO that small group would be LeBron, Dirk and Howard
Miami sucked bad with just D.Wade
LA Sucked with just Kobe
I think both teams would still suck if you took away Gasol and LeBron....and i think New Orleans would suck with only Chris Paul and OKC would suck with just Durant.
which is why i believe players who can carry a franchise on their back to the NBA Finals should be givin much respect even LBJ for what he did with that city league rec team in Cleveland for all those years...NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Re: Top-10 Players in the NBA
Dirk was 3 or 4 before he blew up in this post season. People were just looking for any reason to throw him up to #1 or #2. Finally getting a championship, an unbelievable run, continued unstoppability (I know that's not a word), coupled with LeBron's failures secure him as #1.
Right now, bottom line, he's best in the game.Comment

LeBron James is the best player in the NBA right now. He is the best Individual Player. Now, While Dirk maybe the best clutch player , Big Shooter whatever.
LeBron is an individual Superstar. and Like I said he is not an above and beyond #1 , Because of the choking and miscues with team play. Kobe only hits number 2 because of the 6 rings. Otherwise Dirk or Howard would be 2. I also agree with the Dallas cowboys guy who said that Dirk and Howard are similar players in the fact that they break there backs carrying what are two role player filled teams.
Basically Dirk and Howard are tied for 3. But, If LeBron were Dirks age, Don't tell me he wouldn't have a title. And although it's lessened by the fact that he didn't have the mental toughness to keep on with Cleveland Year after year like dirk has with Dallas... It's still a title, and my guess is LeBron will not have 7, not 6, not 5, but a respectable 4 titles when his career is said and done.
Dirk still has the opening for 1 more if Cuban plays his cards right and Dirk continues the absolute dominance from the playoffs a year ago...Comment
