Not super knowledgeable about the world level scene, but I imagine playing Bosh/Love at the 5 wouldn't be a problem. Could be completely off base and wrong in assuming that though.

No it wont be, but really the question is do you want Melo playing in the 4? Slotting Bosh and Love at the 4/5 you probably don't want to wear them out, like I said Griffin should be good for about 10mpg, Chandler for 25-30, just feels like a lack of 4/5 guys. LeBron can fill in at the 4 as well, but itd be nice to bring Cousins or Davis just to play garbage minutes.

Why the hell is Westbrook on the team?

Dude is the complete opposite of what an effective FIBA player is. Unless you put him at SG, which would make some sense, I suppose.

        Urban Meyer is lol.

Guys like Westbrook and Cousins could learn a thing or two not even from being on the team but from going thru the whole experience, especially as far as learning from other players since the one thing they do emphasize heavy is teamwork.

If I had to pick between the two right now, I'd take Cousins though, as much as Westbrook is my boy.

FWIW, Harden and Anthony Davis were the only 2 they invited to training camp with USA.

“After a lot of deliberations, after reviewing our roster, we think these two additions strengthen our National Team program immeasurably. James Harden probably is the sixth man of the year in the NBA, and Anthony Davis brings a dimension to our pool we don’t have. He’s young, but it’s exciting to think about the possibilities,” Colangelo said in a released statement.
If Davis makes the team, then this will REALLY help his game and once his rookie season starts, he'll be able to hit the ground running as opposed to bringing him along slowly.

you can get away with the smaller guys at the 5 unless you play a team with a lot of Talent in the Paint. Spain is the one that comes to mind with the Gasol Brothers and Serge Ibaka coming off the bench.

Spain is the first thing that came to mind with Gasols and Iblocka. Not sure about other countries

Gasols are kinda the reason I hope Griffin doesn't see the floor against Spain.

Drew, looking at the other tems, I don't think there are many with multiple great big guys. Bogut is out with a injury. France has Diaw but of course he is more of a perimeter guy. Tunisia doesn't have any neither does GB. Argentina has a lot of older guys like Oberto and Scola.

Kinda what I figured. Spains front court is no joke though and definitely need personnel for it. Think a true big and Griffin/Davis not making the team would be ideal. Cousins seems like the best pick for it

                        Cousins isn't going.

Davis makes sense because of his length and defense so if you bring him along with Tyson, then you can at least replace the interior D you would lose from Duhwight being out.

Davis would get chewed up by Gasols/Ibaka, though. Hasn't even seen professional competition leap yet.

Depends on the matchups and who's out on the floor though.

But It's not like you're asking him to play 20-30 minutes anyway or to shut them down on his own, especially if you have Bosh as well. Plus by the time the Olympics start, he'll at least get SOME experience out there playing in the exhibitions, assuming he makes the team.
