    Adrian Woj's twitter

Talks on a 50-50 BRI split broke down, and labor talks have ended, source tells Y! No new meetings scheduled. Huge setback in this lockout.

    Oh dear.......euroleague it is!!!

    Joking aside, this news sucks.

Oh look, 50/50 is still not good enough for the players.

Blow up the season, come back next year at 10/90 in favor of the owners... let them play for their contracts and a little else. Let the increase in the owner's portion lead to ticket price cuts as well as memorabilia price cuts... let the struggling economy be able to go and afford to have a good time without breaking the bank.

        let it happen.

Watching the NBA press conference now:

          - Silver says League offered 50 and players were only willing to go down to 52.5

          - Silver says union wants a tit for tat negotiation. If they drop in BRI, they want system to stay the same. League sees BRI and system as completely separate. BRI is to prevent league financial losses. System is for competitive balance.

-No game cancellations today but will meet with Stern and labor committee to discuss canceling games.

the media is asking some really good questions...interesting answers being given..

So the 49-51 split just isn't enough for the players? For some reason, that extra 2.5-1 split is just SOOOOOOOOOOOO much to give up.

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion

My opinion: Still have one and a half more weeks to get a deal done and still have games on Dec 1st. The pattern seems to be negotiate then break for a few days and then meet again next week. If they aren't meeting next week....we are in trouble.

Thats when the real hurt starts. That means 3 paychecks missed and maybe more. thats over 800 million dollars lost and for what? They aren't going to get that money back. Euroleague has started so that means 300 plus players are jobless.

I'm really looking forward to the players conference.

                    Rovell:

If NBA cancels next 2 weeks, players would have lost $400M. The difference in BRI is worth $800 million over 10 years!

The owners actually offered a 49-51 band according to Silver.

Holt says Spurs lost money last two years.

just went back to Pacers/Knicks on NBA TV. When is the Players Conference?

This is getting flat out ridiculous.
