Yup, stuff normally leaked out are things that affect the discussions.

At the same time however they have a federal mediator involved telling them not to leak info or comments to the media.

Can you believe that these bastards have met for a total of 24 hours now?

So am I to believe that there is no progress after all this time? If this is the case, this would have to be the most insane labor negotiations I've read about. And George Cohen would probably drink himself to sleep for 3 days.

          LOL. So true.

Again. Why meet for 24 hrs and push back the board of governors meeting if there is no movement?

I had a dream last night that the lockout got settled. I was somehow involved with a team, I think lower level management. There were a bunch of changes to the structure and I think a few teams were contracted, they changed the playoff structure and just when I was about to get my hands on a document with all the details of the changes.....

So Stern left to go discuss revenue sharing with owners and will return to the meeting according to multiple sources.

                From Alan Hahn:

As sides take a short break, one weary source from the room told Newsday, "It's not that we're doing nothing, it's just a very wide gap."

No bull**** if the sides can't agree after over an entire day of negotiating....Stern needs to cancel the first two months. If this can't bring them together, only missed checks will.

George Cohen will be making a statement to the media shortly.

                    This...cannot be good news.

Statement will be made in 15 minutes. No one from either side will be with him and there will be an update on the negotiations.

                    I dunno.

Will these bullheaded bastards make a deal already. How can you have a FULL DAY of meeting and yet are no closer to actually coming togethere. What can the possibly be talking about for that long if not the damn two biggest issues. Sigh.

At least college ball starts soon and the Lions are actaully winning.

                            It could be either way.

More than likely it will be neutral stuff. "We have made some progress blah blah blah."

If it were overly good or bad news, I'm guessing the NBA or NBPA would be there with him to share in the glory.

I believe Cohen was not involved at the end as the sides basically got together and finished it themselves. The players and owners held a joint presser.

Like I said, I wouldn't expect anything ground breaking. Probably just an update on if they are making progress so they can give some info to the public.

                                Uh oh...

MSG chairman James Dolan has left hotel, deferring comment to mediator Cohen. "I'll leave it to him," Dolan said. Union execs also leaving.
                                Ken Berger.

Well, maybe not so bad after all:

Mediation will continue tomorrow at 2 p.m., says one of the participants.
