Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion

This all centers around one thing Greed. And its stupid pointless greed at that. They are crying because they wanna get paid more for playing a GAME. Guess what happens to the world is Lebron or Kobe disappear? NOTHING. Their is always someone waiting to take your place. I agree that sports as a whole make alot of money and offer alot of people jobs who might not have one otherwise in these times. But the selfish me me me greed from all sides of all leagues of sports has to stop. Doctors make alot of money and they save lives yet they dont earn like a Sports figure. Cops. Firemen, The Us Army i mean i can go on all day of more deserving people yet people wanna sympathize with an athlete who is still making money because he has a deal with Nike. And lost in all this are rookies and benchwarmers who still make plenty to live a comfortable life on but are being shunned by the PA of these sporting leagues. I dont feel bad for any professional sport because at the end of the day its a game and you choose to enter into that field and play a game. Stop trying to win my sympathies and my pity all you get from me is a big middle finger. My life aint so bad when i look at how all your life does is center around money and complaining about it. -CBSSPORTS

That dude made alot of sense, I just saw on the comments below.
Anyone agrees or is it just me?

That dude's point loses all merits because he states that the players are crying because they wanna get paid more and that's not true. They're not asking for anything more than they already have. Finally he goes into the doctor/police/army routine which...well frankly not to be disrespectful, but cry me a river. When they generate the same kinds of cash that athletes do, then they can cry about they're pay, which btw they chose to enter that field too knowing the payment they would get. These guys need to stop belittling sports as 'just a game' while putting it on a pedestal of naming they're kids after teams/sports networks, spending all they're hard earned money on it every year and making it part of family traditions and ****. Sports stopped being 'just a game' the second people started giving owners they're wallets and saying take whatever you want for my favorite team.

On to other stuff. Really hope we get some positive news here. I just want basketball at this point and my 2K rookies lol.

The NBA isn't generating the kind of cash they expected it to though. That's really the root cause of this whole thing.

The league's a joke at this point, and this whole fiasco further proves it. The players are totally out of touch with how the world works, just one more of many reasons why NBA popularity is a fraction of what it was 15-20 years ago. For the most part, nobody cares if the NBA plays or doesn't play.

To piggy back an earlier point. The one good thing that may come out of this is a shortened season. A shorter season would do wonders for me when it comes to the league keeping my attention.

Like a phoenix from the ashes, the NBA will rise tonight with a new CBA to vote on.

                From Chris Broussard:
"11 hrs & counting. I'm told owners & players have talked about concepts & minor issues. Not tons of ground made on 2 biggies (BRI & lux tax)"

HOW THE **** DO YOU TALK FOR 11 HOURS ONLY ABOUT CONCEPTS?!!!!

I wouldn't expect anything to get done in a few quick days though, but that's just me.

This is better for me than not paying attention at all. Also hasn't been a few quick days. Both sides have been discussing these issues for months and they know where each side stands. If they want to get a deal done, they can do it in a day.

Well I can see how you're following this since it's in your line of work, I'm assuming.

And of course, if they want to get one done they probably can as we've heard 100 times LOL. Problem is neither of them could care less(my bad Matrix LOL)if they get one done or not otherwise they wouldn't be in this situation where someone has to hold their hands for them to get something done and instead we'd be talking about which player looked the Goofiest on Media Day.

24th I was talking about following every single tweet that comes out. Hell, most of the stuff I've learned about I've found out because of the stuff ya'll are posting

Got me ****ed up if you think I'm gonna be on the Tweet Prowl searching for any little thing that comes out lol.
