Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion

I always wondered how the food situation works.

Do they like, stop and go eat? Do they have food catered? Are they eating falafel sandwiches and the sauce is dripping all over the papers?

Then again, I always wonder how any food situation works.

I was watching ESPN this morning and Broussard was saying how the reps sent out ice cream and cookies and stuff to the media as well as leftover Chinese food from the day so I guess they order out (but the cookies and ice cream I guess wherever they are negotiating provides that kind of stuff?)

So if they ordered beer, would that be a good sign?

"It’s time to make the deal. If we don’t make it Tuesday, my gut … is that we won’t be playing on Christmas Day," Stern said.

Looks like the owners meeting scheduled for 2pm got pushed back to continue the talks with the Union.

Oh man, just imagine what could have been accomplished if they...you know, took this **** seriously before they cancelled the first two weeks of the season and screwing me out of the opening night Bulls/Mavs game. Or even better, back when owners were making threats about bodies and waiting for players to miss paychecks and players were acting like a damn carnival riding around playing stupid *** exhibition games. Get this **** done already. I'm already missing the Bulls and Mavs the first time around, God help them if miss the second game between these two.

No progress is ever made on anything when there isn't pressure to do so.

A discussion about this in March wouldn't have done anything.

No indication of progress yet. But continue to hear from sources that some owners prefer to miss season rather than accept bad deal.

Media really have no clue do they? lol

What Berger posted is true but its not exactly news. We knew that weeks ago. Guys like Leonsis dont give a **** if a season is missed. His Hockey team is rolling and the arena is packed almost every night. The thing is only 16 owners need to approve the CBA so it really doesnt matter if a few disagree.

Owners lose nothing in this in the long term and they hold all the cards. No one really cares what the rank and file player have to say..which is the majority. Its bickering between the superstars and the owners, neither of which will really be affected if this doesnt get done and the season is cancelled.

I do understand that, im just speaking of at the moment, they dont really have much...

That is what makes me wonder why all of those owners arent present in these meetings

I agree, and this is why people are having issues with the players as well

I think the less stuff that leaks out, the better that I think something gets done.
