Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
I'll say it:
He said Stern carries himself like a slave owner. No need to discuss it further because its a ridiculous statement especially coming from someone like Gumbel.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
I just read the comments a few minutes ago. I won't go that far to agree with Gumbel on his analogy, but Stern is the prick behind this mess.
But then again, Gumbel is a prick as well.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Stern's not the only prick. I'd through Hunter and Garnett in there too.Comment

USA Today reporter Jeff Zillgitt
From a person who knows: NBA board of governors planning committee meeting scheduled for this afternoon w/full board meeting tonight & THU.
Sounds like today is D-Day. We need either a full CBA to vote on or vote on more cancelled games.Too Old To Game Club

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
Well I've been saying that but David Aldridge said on NBATV that they could still do both...there is nothing preventing them from having meetings the rest of the week or anytime after that I guess except a deadline, and im not sure there is one or is there?Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
I may have to check my facts, but I'm pretty sure "slaves" didn't get paid $400,000+ a year to run around chasing an inflatable ball in air-conditioned arenas.
Bryant Gumble's just being ridiculous and sensational.

If slavery is making 4+ million a year playing basketball sign me the **** up I'll be the best slave ever. Real talk.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
Ugh. Just last night, I thinking "I hope none of the players try to make the slavery comparison". I'm glad none of them did, but Gumbel's comment is just as dumb. Stern is a lot of things, but "slave-owner" is not one of them.XBL: Mean Greene
