Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion

Once again I realize the old BRI and system needs to be redone or at the least revamped. What I am saying is the league should be looking for non-revenue consessions to give to the players to compensate for all the revenue/system related changes they are making. Isn't that how negotations work?

If the owners were giving the players things not in the previous CBA in return and the players were still playing hardball I would be calling them out. It's hard for me to call out the group getting nothing out of the new CBA that they didn't have in the previous one.
You looking at the Chair MAN!

Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.

..and 24th yeah Dice came in here mad because WTF told Powe to shut up (where i responded let him talk please lol), then put up a Steve Nash quote and asked if that was rebukable also? Its really not that serious...

Goodness man, its not like people are telling every player to shut up, some are saying some things that are making the owners looking like the good guys because they sound so freaking dumb, thats the problem, and the public perception is further in the toilet every time they say something outlandish and dumb
Okay, I can get that. However this is Twitter, it seems pointless to bitch about bad grammar on Twitter and texting and whatnot. People get out messages in shorthand. Do I personally like that form of communication? Not really, but we're going to really go in on someone over Twitter? I miss words while typing out stuff on here all the time, doesn't mean I'm an idiot or uneducated. Most of the time these dudes are tweeting from they're phones anyway so it's even easier to skip a puncuation mark or word in the sentence. I don't know, just don't seem right.

Even though Dice agreed with me, he kindve lost my original point, lol

i already explained my position on this twice now...so I dont want to keep beating a dead Sarah Jessica Parker.

I was worried somebody was mad at me... lol

I'm just fed up with the whole situation. Keep your comments out of public. You're in mediation. The Players Assoc needs to start fining guys, just like Stern would do with the owners. If you want to spout off AFTER a deal gets done... so be it. But right now you're just adding fuel to the fire.

It's not about grammar at all. It's about a dude who hasn't played basketball for 2 years saying he doesn't mind if they miss a year. Of course he doesn't mind, Powe cannot play anyway because his knees are shot.

                Ok enough about Powe. LOL.

This is where we currently stand: 3 of the five issues are settled or close to being settled:

BRI: 49-51% band was tentatively agreed upon.
Revenue Sharing: Owners have agreed to a system
                Midlevel: Shortened the years.

Whats left is the Bird Exception and the Luxury Tax. Today's meeting starts at 2 and I expect it to be another all nighter. Lets see if they can get it done over the next 2 days.

                  Hopefully so.....

And if they do agree on something in the next few days. Maybe the NBA will use the "secret schedule" (as reported by ESPN i think ?) they have to start the season in December and still have a full 82 games.

82 games is gone. Stern confirmed that. I think if they get a deal done in the next 7-10 days, the schedule starts Dec 1.

Mid level was agreed upon last week.

The BRI is practically done. The NBA formally offered a band of 49%-51% depending on revenues. Sources say that the Union may counter with a slightly higher ban but that this issue is practically done.

Revenue sharing was finalized last night in the NBA owners meeting.
