Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Hockey,UFC or soccer.
So I had this season being cancelled from the beginning.
Then something happend or was said to make me believe it would be 2 seasons.
Then Crittenton set this back another 2 years.
Then Gumbel opened his mouth and it went back even further.
Now Amare puts that picture out and some how players expect to have anyone rule in thier favor or support them.
"That's it man,game over man,game over!"Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Stephen A (even though I hate him for recent Lebron rants) said it right during the ESPN radio podcast. The players have not proven why this deal is unfair. They just say its unfair because... you know what? I don't even think they know why its unfair. They have to be using that 57% as a measuring stick of what they could be getting. Guess they figured if they could get it once they can get it again.
This is ridiculous. Maybe we should sue the NBAPA...#WashedGamerComment

Probably exactly what happened. Don't forget to put Derek 'My Career Is Almost Done So I'm Trying To Work On A Job After Basketball' Fisher.#WashedGamerComment

Yep, that was my point. I have a law degree and there were some parts of the offer I had to review two or three times to understand. Hard to see how the players could be informed on their own.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
One thing that struck me during the NBAPA press conference was the attitude of the players. Many of them were in high spirits and laughing as they joked with each other. Maybe it is just me, but I don't think now is the time for laughter.
There were a few players who had their "business face" but most seemed to think that this was a fun thingComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
The laughing and joking made me think there was going to be a deal but then I looked over at Kobe and watched him for a few moments and he looked really pissed, wasn't talking to anyone, wearing dark sunglasses, and that right there told me. I don't get why they were all so happy. Maybe it hadn't set in fully yet but I think in the coming week they'll cease being so happy and realize what happened.
Barring a miracle, I've never in my life seen a union fail so spectacularly. Everything a union sets out to do they abjectly failed in. It is truly extraordinary how complete their **** fail was.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
The last time the NBA and the players association met, the meeting ended early Friday morning with an offer from the league. The NBA then sent that offer in writing to every player, and quietly prayed that the union would let the players vote on it, expecting it would pass and the NBA season would begin.
Made me lol after reading.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
I thought the previous deal was awful for the majority of fans. Glad they rejected it and would gladly accept a lost year for a better system.

You say that as if it's a guarantee there will be a much better system than the one that was in place.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Honestly man, that system might not have been one sided to the players, but they had a heck of alot of things in there that was just fine
I dont know about being glad they rejected it..but whats next to comes is definitely worse for them but whats the cost?Comment

The article Howard Beck wrote yesterday or something about the NBA he envisioned was entirely acceptable.Comment
