But like aholbert pointed out all they can see is the carrot in front of their faces and end up walking past an entire field of carrots.

First, the owners would ask for (and would be justified in receiving) salary rollbacks equal to the number of games being played. That would mean each player would lose more than 20% of their salary. A player making 5 mil would now make less than 4. You really think players wouldnt care about losing 20% of their salary.

There is simply no way in hell that the NBA will generate more revenue with a 66-60 something game season instead of the normal 82. The reasons have already been mentioned here. Just let that **** die man, cause it's not a good idea for anybody involved except maybe Timberwolves fans who don't have to watch 82 examples of bad franchise management a year this way.

See above. Everyone is tired of your same argument. If you want to make that argument, make it in the thread that you started, and don't bring that in here and derail this thread like you did the first CBA Thread. Aaron and 23 have both explained it time and time again, and your "fellow OS users" don't want to see it go back down that road.

That's why it was directed at you, and it stops here. Continue discussion of the CBA, minus the # of games.

I don't think myself, or ANYONE else who's responded missed your point. Trying to sneak in the last word won't work either. I've said drop it, look above at the posts once again... Especially the bolded one. I said keep it in the thread. The next post from you about that will result in da ThRONe not being around to discuss it when the Season starts. If you want to keep that discussion for YOUR Thread which you also eluded to in your post, then do so.

No more cutesy "I'll get the last word in" by accusing us of missing your point, when your "point" is in black and white letters above.

Back on topic, I'm ecstatic about the 2 days between the finals wrapup and the draft. That's a great way to keep the NBA relevant for the month, when normally there's not a lot of NBA discussion.

@RichSandomir Richard Sandomir NBA to start season w/ five games on Xmas--one on TNT then two on ABC and two on ESPN

@johnhollinger John Hollinger I'll guess the two added Xmas games are Grizzlies-Thunder and Blazers-Spurs

Bold move to try and go up against the NFL on Sunday Night with 2 of their marquee teams playing that day.

Not that bold if its the Thunder, Griz, Blazers and Spurs. Only the hardcore fans will be watching those games anyway. Also, there is a chance that the Packers would have already clinched by then.

              So it begins....

Woj - NBA executives told that they can start talking to agents, and practice facilities will open to players on Friday, source tells Y! Sports.
To be clearer, teams can start talking to agents on Wednesday about deals for players. No deals can be official until Dec. 9.

Oh I agree that the Hardcore NBA Fans will watch those games regardless, especially since it's opening night.

But when you have one of the greatest rivalries in American Sports with one of the teams being undefeated playing on primetime on Christmas Day, I'd be shocked if it doesn't blow the 8:00 game out the water as far as ratings go or highest # of viewers especially since Football is still King during this time of the year.

So it's basically like a regular Free Agency minus the 3 months you have til the season starts.

Makes more sense that having players wait until Training Camp opens before they can step foot into a Practice Facility.

Don't recall anyone answering this, but I'm pretty sure no agreement is needed to opt out. The league opted out of the last deal if I'm not mistaken...though I could be remembering what the NFL did and applying it to the Association lol.

So provided the Christmas matchups remain what they already were, I'm going to say Bulls-Lakers and Heat-Mavs get the two ABC spots, while Grizz-Thunder and Blazers-Spurs get the two ESPN spots leaving Knicks-Celtics on TNT. Keep in mind I have no clue which games were gonna be on what before the season in peril thing.
