Will never work. Decert will always die at the appeals level because the federal appeals courts in most districts are pro-industry. That will work just as well as it did with the NFL.

Maybe. Maybe not. If the courts rule in favor of the players, then the lockout would be deemed illegal. It's a longshot BUT it's the last option the players have right now.

The problem is that it isn't the nuclear bomb. It's like shooting yourself in the head.

It won't help much, as the court will likely say get your act together or I'm upholding the lockout. This was already proven to be a failed tactic. Especially because the NBPA will still likely be active.

Same thing that happened in the nfl will happen here. They may get lucky and get a judge to lift the lockout. The NBA will request a stay and get it. Then it goes to the Appeals Ct. and the NBAPA loses. That is the real reason they didn't decertify. There is like a 5% chance that works.

It was rumored in the 7 digit range so it's either around the same as now or a little more.

This lockout was doomed from the get go. When I heard that only around 8-10 teams made a profit last season I knew this was going to be no where near what the NFL lockout was like. I don't know if I want to say both parties are being really greedy or just really stubborn. The players have said they want to play but turned down a couple decent offers, mainly the one the owners proposed to let the agreement be thrown out after 7 years. If the players wanted to play, they'd get a deal done. I can say I've never been more disappointed in a league than I am with the NBA right now. They have a real chance to do what the NFL has done, and their just flushing it. Both the owners and players need to budge, but neither seems as if they're going to. The owners have given in on a couple things, but the players won't at all. If you want to play, don't tweet it, get the dang deal done. The NBA is coming off a great year of playoff basketball. Some of these teams won't survive no matter what rules they lay out. Do they think taking a year off is going to get people to come out and watch the Minnesota timberwolves over the Vikings or wild? Or make people go watch the kings or raptors? The NFL did a great job, but the NBA has done this a couple times now and it's getting old. If they want the NBA to become the next sport like the NHL, keep rescheduling meetings and not have a season. I don't think the NHL and NFL will mind, just more fans to go watch them. Nicely done guys, you have ruined a season of basketball for millions of people. I guess college basketball will be off the charts too. I feel sorry for the celtics, their team isn't getting younger and this might be their last year to compete like they did a couple years ago. Well, off the watch the NFL. Peace, and hope this foolishness gets taken care off!

Yes, you are the only one. It would be depressing to see Duncan, Garnett & Kidd retire because of a cancelled season. ****ing owners and players can all eat a ****. Screw you, David Stern and Billy Hunter. These two idiots led their league and athletes to the toilet twice in 14 years. Expect backlash and restarting everything they've built since '98.

KG? He's one of the players pushing for this nonsense. If he wants to waste a year after a very profitable career, so be it. Not to mention was due $22m this year! He made his bed, now sleep in it.

Aw, poor KG may have to retire if the season is cancelled.

Shouldnt have ran his mouth the other day.

I'm more concerned with classy guys like Duncan, Nash, and Hill saying "screw it". Actually, if Nash keeps running his mouth the way he did today, I won't care that much either.

Yeah but c'mon man. 1.6 million is a lot, but that means you can't get a house that's 1.2 million then get 2 cars with the other 400k.
