And so were the owners, coming up on the BRI to as far as, reportedly, 50%. Did the players move on their other demands?

And whatever, conceding is conceding, this deal doesn't get done unless the abstract is worked on.

Please accept the fact that both sides have made concessions.

Players had 57% of revenue. They offer to bring it down to 53%.

Owners got 43% of revenue. At first they want 54% for themselves but then lower it to 50%.

So, doing the math, owners would gain 7 percent more of the revenue than they had last year according to their proposal. Players, according to their proposal would lose 4%.

        Well, you believe the 'word-play'.

Maybe that's why so many here are mesmerized by the owners?

I don't know. Maybe because it's so easy to see the players just put their foot in their mouths BUT we can't see beyond the 'slick talking' by Stern.

By market, I'm talking about the size of the city/population (and surrounding area). LA, Chicago, and New York are bigger. I think Houston might be bigger.

The Raptors never sign a player of relevance because the team stinks and they play in Canada.

And that's it. What about on the system. What was their concessions there?

The split is not a big deal to both Hunter or Stern, they both said they would go quickly. But the owners are willing to concede on their other demands but the players aren't?

The owners came in prepared and were ready to offer a whole CBA. Either the players are unprepared or they are not moving. Either way, they aren't giving up on their demands on the system.

Nevermind the fact we've had conflicting reports on whether 50-50 was ever really on the table. Facts be damned though.

At the very least, we know they put 49% on the table.

Flat out, I don't want the players to succeed in keeping the power anyway. I hate what they have turned the game of basketball into, a glorified pickup game where players get to choose who they want to play with, rules be damned.

Being a big market doesn't just rely on population. Yes, it has a huge part in it, but the most relevance when they talk about a "huge market" is being in a city that has many great sports teams, a large media outlet, and a team that sells out every game. Toronto is a huge place, but that might be the only thing they have going for them. Middle level attendance, I don't think Canada hurts them, it's more the media part of it. I feel like someday, Toronto is going to get sick of the Raps, mainly because their attendance has slowly gone down. I have a feeling we won't have any Canadian teams at some point in the near future. Anyways, back to the lockout, not talking about the big markets...haha

                        Biggest markets:
                        Chicago
                        New York
                        LA
                        Boston
                        New Jersey
                        Detroit
                        Miami

Those are all way higher markets than Toronto. Top 15, no...top 20, maybe.
Detroit isn't as big a market especially with how badly the recession hit. Miami isn't as big, New Jersey isn't as big. I'd argue Toronto is a bigger market than Boston, the Toronto Metropolitan area has greatly supported the Raptors (with the exception of last year but who would truthfully support a team built that badly?)

Also regarding your claim that no big free agents go to Toronto Boston, Detroit, and New Jersey haven't really had big free agents they've traded for them or developed them in house that's not really a solid argument bro.

I dont think anybody is mesmerized by the owners

We all know that the ball was in the players court, thats what it is

So what they gave up a stinkin 4%..so what

They still leave the season filthy freakin rich

They still get to play basketball

They still live a lavish lifestyle, something you might never ever experience in your life

Like I said, dont clown Spree then sit up and defend this garbage

I dont care for any rich clowns fighting over money but if its a league you want to continue to run efficiently then stop running your mouth and do something about it, dont just pick a number and say im not moving

These dudes have lived off of the MJ and 90s hype for a long time now...obviously its not about the love of the game anymore

Shaq lived off of his endorsement money his entire career, which included paying off baby mamas, peoples houses, christmas giveaways and who knows what else

He could stand there and sound like KG, but im sure he knew what was up and decided not to even bother trying to come back seeing this happen in the near future

Like I said, as much as Spree said something stupid, he backed up his stance and never showed his face again

These dudes cant even see they'll still leave richer than what they started...but would rather go on twitter about some dumb united crap...united for what? 53, thats me?

Cool KG, cool Durant, cool Steve Nash... I hope that players loan out program works out for yall

All the reporting and stories have been about the basketball related revenue split. I haven't heard anything about the other system related issues like Bird Rights or the mid-level exception until very recently (tonight).

Detroit isn't a big market yet they have the Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions? All winning teams? I'm sorry but a baseball team that is never going to make the playoffs because Boston signs all the players isn't going to cut it. Miami only signed one of your players and possibly the best player in the league, but they aren't big. New Jersey only was going for Melo, who was almost ready to accept it, but that isn't a big market. To say that Toronto, CA is a bigger market than Boston is probably the funniest thing I've ever heard. Google the biggest NBA markets...or sports markets, see what you get.
