I hate Kobe but I agree with what you're saying. He will continue to adjust and just score in different ways. If he plays until he is 40 he'll probaly stay over20 ppg.

You fellas are nuts if you really think Kobe will average 20, 5 & 5 until he retires or that he will average 20 ppg or more until 40 yrs. old. Neither will happen and he'll continue to steadily decline like most athletic wing scorers do. He has too much mileage on those knees and he's already breaking down physically. No one beats father time, not even Kobe Bryant.

MJ averaged 20-6-5 as he was 40 nd put up big points every night, even sometimes over 40 in his last season. Anyway Kobe will just find different ways to score as he is top notch when it comes to basketball intelligence. I think Kobe would average 20-5 until he's 40 even though there are some extremely big mileage on his knee. **** it on my assocciation Kobe retired with 39K points.

            1. Kobe ain't MJ.
            2. Kobe's 33 now. He's not gonna play another 7 years, much less average 20 ppg.

              2. He is not going to play until he is 40 and I am aware of that too soo...

But yeah.. Kobe will average 20 points until he is retired.

                Not really much to evaluate.

One of the greatest players ever (top ten easy, maybe top five), getting a little older with a lot of mileage.

Not much more to it than that.

u guys know that jason kidd is a great defender right? at 38 he's one of the best defensive guards.

but yeah kobe has lost a couple steps. but to say he is can't score is crazy. yea his defense is lacking to save energy for offense. He's been off on his jumpers too. However he is a scorer he'll get it done.

If he retired today, what can we say he was missing? Hall of Fame guaranteed.

I don't agree with this at all. The Rondos, Monta Ellis's and Chris Pauls of the world lick their chops when they get to play against Jason Kidd.

If you remember in the finals last year, the Mavs were most successful with Barea at point.

It should be noted that Kidd has lost about two steps since his surgery. Still, he has exceptional power and quick hands. He was able to control both LeBron and Wade using his hands, hips, and chest. Of course, his job was made easier by LeBron pounding the rock into submission and neither Wade or LeBron made enough off ball cuts.

To say that the Mavs functioned at a higher level with JJ Barea at point is mostly bogus. He missed bunches of layups and looked intimidated in the first four games of the Finals.

All three of those guys you mentioned are usually put in screen/rolls about 20 times per game. The onus is put on the team defense to make the quick rotations to nullify these tactics. In man to man confrontations, none of those guys can post Kidd and they would be forced into stressful shot releases due to Kidd's overwhelming power.

yeah but Barrea wasn't the guy being asked to defend LeBron, Durant, Wade and Kobe.

JJB played SG on offense much like Terry and PG on defense so don't twist things around.

well it looks like Kobe is getting bailed out....if the Lakers get CP3 and Howard it doesn't matter how much Kobe has slowed down.

lol @ dude naming three of the quickest guards in the past 20 years of basketball, and using that as an indictment against a 38 year old man.
