I'm guessing this whole fiasco isn't over by a long shot.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Good old Kashanova, it must be like Christmas for you since most of your posts on this board (at least the past 40 pages) have been negative comments aimed at LA, it's players, or it's fans.
Never understand how people can spend so much time extremely disliking one team, that is time wasted you could be liking your own...
EDIT: Drewski, breathe dude breathe!! It will be ok.Comment

Bring it home Phil... 12/30/10
NEW ORLEANS -- A little more than a week ago the NBA purchased the New Orleans Hornets, buying the team from majority owner George Shinn and minority owner Gary Chouest in hopes of finding a new ownership group.
Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson, in town to play the Hornets on Wednesday, voiced his displeasure with the transaction.
"Not happy about that," Jackson said, when asked about the purchase.
"Who's going to trade who to whom? Who's going to pull the button on trading player or when Chris [Paul] says he has to be traded? How's that going to go? I don't know. Somebody's going to have to make a very nonjudgmental decision on that part that's not going to irritate anybody else in this league ... I don't know how they're going to do that."
The Hornets basketball decisions and day-to-day operations will continue to be controlled by team president Hugh Weber and general manager Dell Demps, but Jackson was skeptical any move made by New Orleans would be viewed as the league helping out another franchise.
"That's what everybody is going to be afraid of: Who is going to be helping who out?" Jackson said.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
They negotiated with the Hornets GM Dell Demps. Apparently it was blocked by the owners (I'm guessing a majority of the 27 owners not involved in the deal). They're allowed to do that because the Hornets are currently owned by the league, so they're transactions have to be agreed upon by the rest of the league.
Which is really why I don't understand all the outrage, especially after this was one of the MAIN issues that made the Owners lock out the Players.
This isn't your regular trade that you normally see because one team DOESN'T have an Owner and is run by the LEAGUE.
So if the Magic wanted to trade Duhwight to the Lakers, they could do that and the League couldn't do a damn thing about it. But since they own the Hornets, the Owners have every right to block this move since Stern would need to get THEIR approval either way.#RespectTheCultureComment

Better believe if Paul was bound for Minnesota this trade would have been rubber stamped."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

It's funny when you think about it lol. Especially since they just agreed on the CBA. Not sure what he could say or do, he's just giving himself bad rep with the fans in N.O. by basically begging to get out of there.Comment

Someone better fix this, or we need to put Drewski on suicide watch. Lmfao
Personally, I think it's hilarious. One because it's the Lakers and two because CP just came off as ego-driven as the rest of them. Doesn't surprise me.
It's all because NO is league owned. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't expect CP to go anywhere now, or at least not soon. I really believe the legal action will fall upon deaf ears, because if the owners didn't approve this trade, they probably won't approve any others regarding Paul.Comment

ESPN: "League argued against big market teams leveraging against small market teams for star players".
Yea because it wasn't CP3's idea to be traded to a big market team...don't understand that argument as worded.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Oh right yes, I've said that right?
I'd appreciate if you didn't say things that have absolutely no merit.
Lakers didnt get their way? Yeah, losing Pau Gasol and Odom for CP3 was the Lakers just swindling CP3 and his expiring contract that he DEFINITELY isnt signing with NO now.
This move had huge franchise implications for the Lakers, a team I have been a fan of since I've understood what Basketball is. We lost some amazing pieces in return, but it had to happen in order to get a piece that helps now and will be even more important once Kobe turns a corner.
Majority of people felt Lakers actually were at a disadvantage in this trade, and I'd even agree. But it was worth it long term.
This is a joke.
This is probably a foreign concept to you, being spoiled your whole basketball watching career, with the rest of the most ignorant and hated fan-base in all of sports.Last edited by noa999; 12-08-2011, 11:30 PM.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
At least the Hornets would have been competitive had the trade gone through. As it stands now, they only have 6 people on their roster and two of them are named Patrick Ewing Jr. and Quincy Pondexter. That's lot of spots to fill.Originally posted by J.
