Nets deal is still far and away better.

Nets can give them more talent, much more talent.

Lakers can give money, Bynum and a bunch of late 1st round picks.

Wonder if they wised up and decided to go after Dwight instead.
Doubt it. They probably either realized Stern would veto the trade, or just weren't down with giving up Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, and Lamar Odom for one player, be it a star or not.

Drewski did call it, I believe, so props.

Other than that, I think it's too late for the Lakers to court Dwight. The Nets have laid it all out for Dwight, and at this point Brook Lopez is a better deal than Andrew Bynum.

Far and away is a bit much. Nets picks will be just as late out east with that squad. Brook Lopez isn't more talent at all, he's just not a health question.

Smart move by Mitch. Lakers clearly were jerked around in this scenario in a trade that clearly was going to hurt logistically. Wish he spent this time talking to Otis instead of wasting it with this bull CP3 trade business.

The TPE would be equal to Odom's salary, 8.9 mil. Not enough to take Hedo.

The Lakers will be better off letting the TPE expire, getting rid of Gasol at season's end, and trying to sign CP3.

I wouldn't worry too much. The Nets offer is the best offer at this point. If the Lakers didn't have a 1st round pick to give to NO for Paul, no GM is gonna "help" 'em out so they can get Dwight.

Nets picks won't be that much better than the Lakers? Really? I mean really?

Source confirms http://ESPN.com report that Lakers will instead trade Lamar Odom into Dallas trade exception.

That's certainly your opinion that Brook isn't more talented.

Brook is more durable, younger, and a better low post scorer.

The Nets picks + what ever other team's picks they have will be better than the 29 to 30th pick the Lakers give them for years on end.

That's what's interesting, and that's why Orlando and the Nets probably would want another team or two involved. Orlando's gonna have to be able to bring in quality players through the draft, and the Nets picks aren't guaranteed.
