But that could all be a smoke screen so that he doesn't have to answer the same questions over and over again
He'll probably bolt in the Summer....i know people don't believe it but i do recall seeing a qoute from Williams when he was in the Mavs locker room after one their playoff games last year that he specifically stated he'd love to return home to play ball in Dallas.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Looks like Rip to the Bulls is inevitable.
@KCJHoop K.C Johnson
Confirmed that Rip will be at #Bulls practice on Thursday. Will ask Thibs at Weds nite practice if he plans to play him Friday vs. Indy.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Fine by me but I do know what facts are out there...and what you're saying is not a fact. Just something you WANT to see and/or believe.
What I DO know(and this is coming from HIS mouth)we win, he stays. That simple.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
^^ I disagree.
The Magic are dumb IMO for not taking that deal and if I'm the Nets I wouldn't offer that again at the trade deadline when Dwight flip-flops again and wants out.
It's like the Mike Ditka/Ricky Williams trade in the NFL where the Saints gave away an entire draft for one player. The Magic could have had 3 1st round picks in this years draft, then at least two for 2013, 2015, and 2017... Wow.
For example, the Clippers got their MIN 1st round pick way back in 2005...in a trade that involved Marko Jaric.
But they may have never even seen some of those picks immediately unless they were unprotected. Then you're probably looking at late round guys with minimal potential. Yeah, you might hit on 1 guy like a Manu Ginobili or Monta Ellis, but otherwise that would not have not too smart.Comment

It's my understanding that he said he's opting out of his contract because he can get more money that way versus signing an extension. He never said he was leaving or coming back for sure.Comment

The HOU pick was the only one lottery protected but every other pick wasn't.
It's my understanding that he said he's opting out of his contract because he can get more money that way versus signing an extension. He never said he was leaving or coming back for sure.
Again, we win, he stays. We lose like we did last year and don't bring anybody in, he leaves.
That simple.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
What was your reaction to David Stern vetoing the Chris Paul trade to the Los Angeles Lakers/ Michael Jordan: If you’re a small market, you’re happy. Obviously I understand where the player is coming from -- the habit of late has been to dictate where he goes. But as a small-market owner, I want to protect my market. (Jordan said he wished the NBA had done away with the rule allowing extend-and-trade transactions. That because the backdrop for Carmelo Anthony forcing his way from Denver to New York.)
edit:How soon can this be a competitive team? Michael Jordan: I want it to be today, but there are certain things you have to take into consideration, like (salary) cap space. Does that mean we have to get into a high draft pick this year (by losing a lot)? I don’t know -- I’m afraid to admit to that. In some ways we’ll have to build through the draft but we should also go into free-agency. Can I put a timetable to that? It’s hard to say. Charlotte ObserverFavorite Sports Teams

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Woj also added details on the Nets offer. New Jersey would have sent Brook Lopez, Gerald Wallace, Jordan Farmar and a first-round draft pick to Orlando. The Nets also would have taken on Chris Duhon and Hedo Turkoglu. The Blazers would have received four draft picks for Wallace. Sam Amick said that Johan Petro was also headed for Orlando.
It's just like CP3 mess and it's just like the Melo mess from last year.#RespectTheCultureComment

Go ahead Knicks and sign Shawne Williams so we can get our roster set.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
If this is the framework of the deal, I have hard time believing that it's dead and over just like that because you don't make that much progress and have all of this go out publically and not have it get done.
It's just like CP3 mess and it's just like the Melo mess from last year.). I also put Travis Outlaw to the Trail Blazers so the trade would be successful since there are no picks. Anyway, here's the change in expected wins:
Magic projected wins: -16
Nets projected wins: +16
This would be a horrible trade for the Magic.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Knowing Portland and their history of drafting...those would've been 4 busts.
Looking at that proposal...Orlando only would get Gerald Wallace and cap relief.
I can see why they balked.Comment

That's too bad, but I don't blame him. I can't name anyone that would take 50% less of anything."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Who said that deal was good? Not me.
I just don't buy for one second that it's dead. Remember, CP3 to the Lakers was "dead" too and what just happened yesterday?
Melo to the Knicks was "dead" at some point last year and what happened?
Point is you don't make all this progress and then just say it's dead just like that, especially when your star player has supposedly told them that they'll lose him for nothing.
I also put Travis Outlaw to the Trail Blazers so the trade would be successful since there are no picks. Anyway, here's the change in expected wins:#RespectTheCultureComment
