Nah they wouldn't, almost all of the contracts they have are 1 year right now (or in the case of Odom team option which they probably won't pick up)Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
It's not really a lock that Gordon will get a max offer in free agency. The number of teams that will have the room to sign him to a max deal is not a lot. Plus a lot of it will depend on what happens with Deron and Dwight. A couple of the teams with the space to offer Gordon a max deal like Dallas and New Jersey will be going after Dwight and Deron. Other teams like the Kings and the Warriors (not sure off the top of my head if they will still have the cap room) don't make sense for a max offer. A team like Boston could make him that kind of offer but I really don't see Ainge offering him a max deal. It will be interesting to see what happens.Comment

Not sure how much cap room they would have off the top of my head but their first priority in the off season is to resign Hibbert. Not to mention they already have George at the two who they are very big on. Not sure how much bringing in Gordon but losing Hibbert would improve their team. Hibbert is a very big part of their team.Comment

They'll be at about 30 mill next year prior to resigning Hibbert. Gordon is a indy kid, and is superior to Paul George.

Ok if that's the case they could realistically make a play at both Hibbert and Gordon. Don't know if I would use it all up on those two guys though if I was the Pacers. Would really have to see how Gordon comes back off the knee injury.Comment

Agreed. There will be teams wanting a crack at one of the few up and coming SGs in a league with a thin Sg field. If not Indiana, others.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
This might be wishful thinking, but with the emergence of Asik being a solid center, Taj Gibson sitting behind Boozer, the Bulls could make a play at Gordon, if they were really serious about finding a long term option to pair with Rose.
The Bulls still have the amnesty option in their back pocket, and despite Boozer's improved play the past few games, could easily be spent on him and allow the Bulls to pick up another giant contract, and I would say Chicago would be a pretty attractive location for him to play.
With wing play that the Bulls would have with Deng and Gordon, they would also get a much better defender in Gordon than Boozer will ever be. Our front court depth would be a little thinner, but that would be an explosive combo.
Obviously they would risk losing Boozer, but Gordon would be worth it. Gordon's play pretty well in Chicago lolLast edited by 1Rose; 01-26-2012, 04:46 AM.Comment

Really, really, wishful thinking.
Rose new extension kicks in next season puts Bulls a healthy portion over the cap even with a Boozer amnesty.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
They'd actually only be a little over $1 million over the cap. Combined with the way Korver, Brewer and Watson's contracts are structured along with another 2 million coming off the books with Scal and Lucas, they would actually be under by using the amnesty clause on Boozer, without doing anything else. They could make it work.Comment

The question is what would be Gordon's asking price. Bid too much and you're over encumbered for the foreseeable future, too little and he's going somewhere else.
I think Gallinari's contract might have set the bar at what to expect.Comment

There is no way we could sign Gordon even if we amnesty Boozer. Even with Boozer off the books next year we are really close to the cap. There is no way we could sign Gordon without going over.Comment
