Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
It's not necessarily that black and white. Less teams will = more competitive play. More competitive play means games are more meaningful which can increase interest, viewership and attendance. Furthermore with teams remaining more competitive further into the season this type of interest can be sustained over a period of time. On top of that more evenly spread talent can give the league some semblance of parity. Lastly less owners means less revenue to share which can equate to more money being put into player contracts.
Clearly 50 teams would be too many, and 8 would be too few. How can you be so sure that 30 teams in the cities they're currently in is the point of best return?Last edited by Hotobu; 01-31-2012, 03:20 PM.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Heard an interesting rumor yesterday on twitter, doubt it happens but who knows.
Hornets send Kaman/Okafor to the Wizards. Wiz send Javale/Lewis to the Hornets, Hornets could then buyout Lewis' contract next year.
I'd be down for this trade if it happened, worst case we free up a ton of cap space in the future for a new owner.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Pretty sure this is Kaman last year (he's expiring) so still isn't feasible.Comment

Nah I get what you saying but I'm pretty sure Kaman contract expires end of this season so if he isn't traded by deadline he's gone.Comment

Kenyon Martin is expected to decide by this weekend which NBA team he’ll join, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks have expressed interest in signing the veteran forward.Last edited by Drewski; 02-01-2012, 02:26 AM.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

I would be sickened with Rasheed Wallace if he went to LA. After all the **** he went through against them with the Blazers and Pistons?
Utterly disgusting.Comment

You can't think of it in those terms though, otherwise I'd be ticked at Rip for going to Chicago.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

I wouldn't be very pissed at Rip. Pistons/Bulls are a historical rivalry but they didn't really cross paths during Rip's time there.Comment
