Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Cap space is just that, SPACE.
Teams would rather wait for the homerun than hit singles, doubles, and triples.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
In regards to Wade's tweet, count me as one of this who think it's related, not necessarily directed, to Dwight.
Here is Jarret Jack's tweet about the Howard situation that mentions loyalty as well as takes a minor jab at the Heat.
I don't really think it's a big deal, but that is definitely how I saw it.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Everyone who doesn't have a problem with Denver's trade (which they did not get a pick?) says they should build around Gallo, Lawson and Chandler (who is not even on the team).
It's whatever.
I guess what's going on in Charlotte, NJ, Toronto, etc. is just an aberration.
Cap space is key.
You guys win.

If a player has to choose between signing a 3 yr/15 mil deal with a top team or 3/35 from a team like Denver or Charlotte....they are going to Denver or Charlotte. This isnt 2010 anymore...cap space matters.Comment

Well, this move frees up more minutes for Koufos/Mozgov who plays better than Nene and maybe Wilson Chandler and gets out of Nene's contract. I don't mind trading away Nene, he plays like he's 5'10 at times, but seriously Javale ****ing McGee? We better not bring him back after the year.Comment

People look at OKC and SAS as good cap management and drafting but those teams are a minority and therefore the exception to the rule. Good management makes good decisions.
The Bobcats probably have all the cap space in the world but no one on their roster to build around and they draft horribly. Same for some of those other piss poor teams I mentioned.

You are thinking short sighted. The rules change drastically in 2 years when the luxury tax penalty triples. This year, FA have the luxury of signing with the glamour teams and not taking a big financial hit. In 2 yrs, that changes.

I hope we're both around in 2 years when you say players will be running towards Charlotte.
Did you miss Brandon Jennings thoughts on his upcoming free agency a few weeks ago?

Hm, well, if it's for the Howard stuff, then that changes things a bit but not really since both are worthless, selfish, transparent punks.
Would have made a better point if it was about Fisher, but I'm sure intelligence is not Dwyane Wade's strong suit.Comment
