Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I'd still take a healthy Bogut (however rare and mythical that may be) over Monta any day though but it's understandable.
Golden State just gave a big F U to Orlando.Comment

Sjax for Brown.
Oyy.........
Sjax and Skiles did not get along at all.
Dump Gooden's sorry rear end next so we can pay Eran the big Bucks.
Got to hand it to Hammond, he's a true GMer. He can get rid of bad contracts just as well as pick some up.
Maybe in another year and a half, the team will be blown up again.
For those that say Jennings will leave, I agree, but he did say on FB that he's tired of all the trade talk and the last thing he said, he wants to retire in Milwaukee.
mmm, haven't heard that one before.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
yes, yes, yes, and more yes. Ellis is one of my favorite players. And now he's on my team? Oh yes.
I love Bogut, but he can only keep the bench so warm with his glass bones. Ersan is playing lights out, and I'm not sure what the guy was talking about when he said to dump Gooden, Gooden has been playing great all year in Bogut's absence.
Takes quite a load off of Jennings. I love this trade. Essentially 2 guys who didn't play, for an all-star caliber and young defensive player.
I still can't believe this. I better get as many games on 2k in while I can before Jennings and Ellis are both gone.
Ersan, PLEASE RESIGN!Last edited by CerebrumMusica; 03-13-2012, 10:46 PM.Comment

2. We have Ellis for at least 2 years right? I'll gladly take that.
3. Even if we got "future assets" that would be good for us in the long-term, they most likely wouldn't sign long-term to be in Milwaukee...NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Year and a half, one year rental depending on if he lets them know he's not picking up his option and they look to move him by next year's deadline.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Jennings and Ellis both have contracts through the 2012-13 season. This isn't the Ray Allen for Gary Payton trade. If the Bucks can resign Ilyasova, there is plenty of future for the team. Both rookies, Leuer and Harris, have looked good so far.
You have to remember that the Bucks aren't the type of team to sign good players for long (yes, Bogut signed a long term deal, but DOESN'T PLAY). So for them to have a player like Ellis, even if only for a season and a half, is exciting for the fans, and a good deal when, like I said, BOGUT doesn't play.
Andrew Bogut has a house no more than 3 miles from my own, and I love him as a player and as a person, but I still think the Bucks got the better deal, especially with how well they have been playing lately, WITHOUT the 2 players they traded even playing. They only get better, even if it is only for this season and the next. Like I said, I will worry about the contracts when they are up, for now, just make the playoffs, please. Even if Chicago/Miami sweep us, I just want to go to a playoff game again.
The problem with the Bucks has been that, for the last few seasons, they've been middle of the road. Meaning, they don't get a high draft pick to get a team changing player. If you ask me, the GM work has been great, getting guys like Dunleavy and Livingston were key this year. Now, get back to .500, please.Last edited by CerebrumMusica; 03-13-2012, 11:23 PM.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Epke Udoh is a good young big for MIL. He adds good size and potential and he'll be on his rookie scale contract for quite a while too. MIL got better for this season.
GS is tanking this season hoping for a lotto pick. Bogut won't play this season and I wouldn't be shocked if Jackson is either bought out or kept on the bench. Maybe Mark Jackson can get something out of him? I hope this means that Jeremy Tyler sees some more time for GS this season so he can develop a little.
After thinking about it, GSW should just try to flip Jackson to a contender who needs a little scoring.Last edited by JohnDoe8865; 03-13-2012, 11:38 PM.Favorite Sports Teams

I didn't see this one coming. I find it amazing that two teams can be so hush hush about a deal like this in the internet/age of instant information.
Good trade for the Bucks...
It was time for Bogut to go, can't afford to waste another year due to a Bogut injury, let that be someone else's problem.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

As a W's fan, its getting really hard to cheer for a team who has made the playoff ones out of the last 21 years and we just traded our scoring and team leader. When are we going to get something to cheer for?San Francisco Giants
2010, 2012, & 2014 World Series Champion

2012 & 2013 AL West Champion

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Hmm, I don't know how I feel about this trade.
It was (and has been) time for Golden State to break up the Curry/Ellis duo. That just wasn't going to bring you success. Entertainment? Sure, but not playoff wins.
Milwaukee, it makes sense for them to part with Bogut. He needed a change of scenery and after all of the injuries, it was time for them to move their separate ways as well.
If Golden State can get a healthy Bogut then they win this deal. That's the biggest question in the this trade though: can Andrew Bogut stay healthy? If he can then this is a good step in the right direction for the Warriors, but if not they basically just came up empty-handed.
I really don't like the combo of Jennings and Ellis. That's just gross. At least Bucks fans will have an entertaining team with Monta, I guess.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
