Think it was about Fisher as well - for two reasons. 1) He was half way out the door to Miami last year, then flipped back to LA and 2) I imagine all of the lockout biz.

Its sad because you are talking alot about things its clear you have no clue about. One last time: You cant compare what happens in 2 yrs to whats happened in the past. The rules are completely different. When you have teams like the Lakers thinking about cutting costs now (when the stringent cap rules havent kicked in), you know that its a different situation.
Cuban was talking about this last week on the BS report. But you go ahead and keep on thinking its 2009.
Keep thinking that players are going to willingly stay in places that they don't want to be or will flock to destinations other than major markets.

You are right but Denver realized that what he is averaging doesnt justify his pay. They had the opportunity to dump a salary and they did. The Wizards desperately wanted to get rid of Javale and get some talent back for him and they did.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
5/95 million from the Bucks for say
5/65 million from the Lakers? (which won't have the cap room so might as well use another big market team)
The different between getting a 4/80 million deal versus a 5/100 million deal now is that the home team offers that extra year (which you can make up by re-upping with your new team when your contract is done). But the difference between that 5/95 million and 5/65 million is you NEVER get back that 30 million. I'm sure players are aware of that.
SIDENOTE: Aaron Houston classifies as a big market team if I recall correctly :PComment

Howard almost did...but then again we're talking about Duhwight(as Pack would say).I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

It's probably moreso towards what Jarrett Jack said than what Fisher and/or Howard said if anything.#RespectTheCultureComment

Also keep in mind that its possible Dwight wouldve signed a max deal with the Nets if he was traded there.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Yeah BUT it was close. That would have been your one exception because he would have been leaving $28 million on the table for whatever team he was traded to when he re-uped in July.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
This trade really does not help Denver. They are not going to have but a couple million dollars next offseason, assuming they re-sign Chandler. When you look at the numbers, they will only have 10-15M before signing Chandler. Everyone is talking about how they get all this cap space, but they really won't be able to add a major player with the money that they will have.Tennessee Volunteers

But if he signed here as a FA, then yeah he'd be taking less.#RespectTheCultureComment

Doesn't have to be a major player.
It can be a bunch of good contributors. Flexibility.Comment
