Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)

If the Lakers can get Dwight, my opinion will change. But as of now, I don't see this as a guarantee to make the Lakers better. Why did the Lakers win Game 7 of the 2010 Finals? Because they were able to dominate the boards due to their size advantage even when their offense struggle.

If CP3 gets hurt for any amount of time, what team is this? Its basically the 2008 Lakers team before Bynum got hurt except with an older Kobe, no Lamar Odom and Mike Brown instead of Phil Jackson.

On another note is it a definite that the Rockets want Nene? Can they pay him or Marc Gasol?

Dude besides Brandon Roy which they also screwed up, Rudy Gay wasn't hindsight, and the Shane Battier Grizzlies had not won a single playoff game

      Are you serious

I think Stern will make an exception and allow the Lakers to bring in Howard in a 5 team trade.

Seriously Drewski, where are we getting the other 2 or 3 big man from? I think this hurts us short term. And then we will need wing depth if we lose Artest, in addition to need a Kobe backup.

I wish N.O. would have given us somebody else back with CP3...deal isn't finalized and off season isn't finished so I'll wait.

Im sorry man but if they wanted to they could shop the dude around... and come up with something better than a big man who's never been an all star that has gimpy knees

Who told you Bynum was the best deal out there?

Gar Forman better call up Otis Smith and offer him Noah+Deng+Asik+two 1st rounders for Howard and Turkoglu

Then that's not a deal I'm willing to make. If I'm giving up a franchise player, I'm expecting some hefty compensation in return.

Personally, I'd rather take the deal the Nets were offering, just at first glance.

Heck, if the Bulls really wanted to, they could probably offer the most lucrative deal.

I'm not too worried if CP3 is lost for a small stretch, it won't be the first time LA has has a mediocre pg (assuming we keep Blake and Fisher).
Now if he is lost for the playoffs...*sigh*

Well, in all seriousness, I dont know. I have 100% faith in Mitch. I see us making a run for David West by dangling the MLE. IF we lose Artest, it's likely in a Howard trade and that would have us ending up with Hedo (all speculation but...). Barnes + Hedo = 3 spot is fine with CP3/D12/Kobe. Dont need scoring, just defense and solid play.

Not sure who else is a FA, I know we are signing Kapono for the Vets minimum.

As of right now, LA hasn't gotten any better. If they don't land Dwight, they'll be even worse once CP3 leaves.
